Hi all.

I am going to do some training at Newcastle Academy in Minx.

Anyway, I was told I need a Minx Lamp and some designs. I was going to buy some designs from Ellisons but I was told I now need proof of Minx Training to buy Minx goods.

Well, obviously I don't have that yet lol. Any other stockists around?

Wonder if they would accept my Nail Tech qualification as proof if I explain my dilemma?

Thanks :) xx

Just ring S2 and explain and be prepared to send your nail tech qualification or fax it as proof. 08452106060 ... I'm surprised if they are teaching a class at a college that they don't have Minx as part of your equipment right there at the class??

It's not a college, it's just an academy.
Never been so not sure what the set-up is in there specifically.
But they are definitely making it difficult!
Thanks for the reply.

That would give me warning bells!! Why not just go to Leeds and do the Minx class with the people who know how to use MINX and who are the only legal licensed suppliers of Minx to the industry in the UK? Surely that makes sense?

I didn't have this information. But now I do, I will look into it. Thanks.

I have done a 1 day manicure course just to have a diploma to be registered with s2, because as a hair stylist (with 12 years experience) I wasn't from the industry. Now I apply MINX to most of my clients. All my training was from personal experience when I was a client, from YOU tube and internet and flots of practice. In my opinion, if you are a good nail technician, you don't need any extra training for MINX, save your money to buy strock instead!

Save what money? The training with S2 is free when you buy the kit. You may as well take it.

Geeg, I contacted Sweet Squared to ask about Newcastle Academy. And they are actually with Sweet Squared. They told me it is totally normal to buy a Minx Lamp and designs prior to training.
So I'm gonna go do it ASAP
