Hi,

Minx, what do you think? Do you like them and how are your clients responding to them? xx

I love Minx and wear them all the time - everybody comments and I do a lot of sets. I like the toes best as they last longer, I had a client who said her fingers lasted 10 days which really shocked me as I normally get a good 4 days on my fingers before they start to fray a little. I've been wearing the sliver on my toes for over a week now and think it's about time I changed....oooh what design should I choose next. Flowers I think :):)

I love minx, only had them on my toes so far and had them on 4 weeks, only took them off cos i was sick of seeing the same and wanted to try another design, my clients are slowly trickling in for minx and the ones ive done love them, so as your best advertisement is your clients hopefully soon they will be queueing at the door lol ive had the pink cheetah and now got on black with silver spots, both look fantastic

I love them and so do my clients. The minx pedicure is my second most popular treatment at the moment. (Rebalncing being the first, as always:lol:)

Its one of the best things I've seen come out in 6 years of being a Nail Technician!

I started doing Minx about a month ago, I've had mine on my toes now for nearly 3 weeks and my daughter has had her's on for about 4 weeks. Everyone has commented on them and i'm now getting people asking for them, thery're fab. I even went to my second home in Tenerife for 9 days and i've been asked to take my minx with me next time, i'll be sat round the pool doing them ha ha (beer money!!!). I'm changing my daughters tonight as she's off to Benidorm on Tuesday. The only problem i have found is when i wear my dolly shoes, because my big toe nail touches the inside of the shoe they seem to 'ruffle' but only on the big toe. I'm thinking of putting a top coat over the big toes or a coat of gel, not sure if the would peel off though under the uv lamp.

MINX is a 'home run' for everyone!!

I am loving MINX and am the only person in my area doing them!!!!
I am, however, finding it a nightmare to get loads of stock as it's so popular.
I have e-mailed Sweet Squared on when their stock will be full again,, so I am hoping I can spend loads and stock up my offerings!

i've had 3 clients ask if i do minx, so i've just bought the maxi minx kit, i think its going to be very popular treatment for me.

:lol:I've been doin MINX for a couple of months now and love it, its great x

Just did 4 sets today - all on toes.
I take a photo of every new design that I use, and am about to make up my own photo album.
I don't see the trend slowing down until it's time for the flip flops to be discarded for boots.

Hi just a quick question - do you do a normal mani/pedi before minx does the water used affect the application at all?x

I find it is best to keep the toes as dry as possible prior to application. I ask all clients to come with clean feet and then I use a sanitiser before we start .. others may do it differently.

I do a dry prep and remove cuticle. Apply Scrubfresh and then the Minx.

Even then, I think most women will still want to let that little Minx inside them, show on their toes. Most ladies don't stop wearing polish in the winter, and I don't think they'll stop wearing Minx either.

I have been doing Minx for about a month, it's very popular and because I wear Minx myself I get stopped a lot and people ask me where they can get it done. (I now carry my business cards round at all times). I perform a basic manicure using Cuticle Away, a nail shape and then wipe over the nail with scrub fresh before applying Minx (this takes on average 45 min). I think this is correct although I have had a couple of clients who have had Minx done elsewhere locally and they both said the treatment took a maximum of 15 minutes and the therapist only wipes over nails before applying Minx, no cuticle work at all? Surely a basic manicure without water is a must before applying Minx?

i started doing minx yesterday and it took me about an hour to apply the first set to myself.
i think its going to take me about half an hour to 45 mins to apply and i do the same steps as you, file nails, cuticles and apply.
surely if you dont do cuticle work it will not adhere properly around the cuticle area.

Hello Im new here & from New Zealand, MINX only just arrived here last week & i did my first application today. I used the silver on my sisters fingers & found some buckling. Is it something that will take some time to overcome? Theres no training here just gotta rely on the video link & experience. Also its winter here so pedicures arent popular.

If there is creasing or buckling then yes you need to learn to control that. Same with wallpapering a wall.

After a few sets of Minx you will learn how to handle it.

I find that working slowly with the sides of my thumbs (never dragging downwards but from the centre to the sides). At the eponychium I work ouwards from the centre in a fan shape. This will stop any creases. Work slowly and methodically and pay attention to what is happening.

I've heard that some people apply minx with very, very little work to the nails beforehand. I'm just wondering does this mean one wouldn't necessarily have to be a fully qualified manicurist in order to be able to offer Minx nails?

It does not involve allot of work for Minx to be properly applied so that they last and look beautiful, but it is necessary to prepare the nail surface to be free of all cuticle and oils. If a professional is not preparing the nail surface in the correct manner than he/she is not doing the job correctly.

Minx veneers are only sold to nail professionals in the UK through www.sweetsquared.com or one of their associates; or a phoned order to 08452106060 where you will be asked for proof of certificate before being allowed to purchase. So the answer to our question is, yes you do.:green:

Thanks, knew it was to good to be true .....
