Mobile advice needed please

hey everyone.. ive been offered a table in a salon but my sets are still taking me 2 hours pp.. I would like to take the table up but due to my timing im thinking doing mobile for a little while would help me get my time down.
Could anybody advice me on how to advertise doing mobile.. the best way if there is one haha!!

oh my gosh there are so many great ideas of advertising that people have posted on here! def do a search and you'll see lots of different threads about advertising, there was one big huge thread about advertising that had some fab ideas on it (not sure of link but if you do a search i'm sure it will appear) i'm sure it was by the lady who has the black and white picture in her profile? i'm not sure of her name lynne maybe? not sure if we have any other lynnes with black and white photos on here so prob not much help! :\ haha

car stickers are popular, and Royal Mail are giving out free trials on mail shots at the moment.
Leaflets, ask friends and family to take a few to work with them too.
web site if your good or know someone that is good at making them.
create a business page on facebook.

But don't be afraid to take the table, I know someone that did just that and with all the practise she got on clients her times became faster in no time at all.

I agree ... TAKE THE TABLE !! Your timing will get faster much quicker in the salon because you will be able to serve more clients and you will be 'pushed' a bit as you get more booked up.

Going mobile is donkey work for little return and you can't see anything like the same number of clients in a day as you can in your own space which is all set up ready to go at any time without pacing and unpacking and all the time wasted when you are going from house to house..
Take the table... you are lucky to get the chance most would love to have.

OMG Snatch up the table hun, there is nothing wrong with 2 hour timings. Most techs i know take 2 hours. I always book out 2 hour slots for my full sets and backfills and i am busy with returning clients. Mostly i finish 10-15 mins earlier which is a bonus so i can i clean down my space and have a quick break. If you feel you can't finish in 2 hours, cross out an extra 15 min slot between clients to give you time to do this.

I am going to take the table.. i suppose im jst worried about clients thinking im slow haha!! I also spoke to the salon manager and told them i was interested about doing an id in the local paper to get the word out before i went into the salon to get people book in first.. they said they personally would start in the salon first and then do an advert :?::?::?: i cant see how this would work as no one would know i was there lol!! is this a normal procedure?! i need to get leaflets done and get out there.. but finiding the time to do everything an still try and keep up my job at the min is so hard.. is shellac as good as it sounds?? also is minx worth it?? i no these are both talked about a lot on here and would like to get training in both.. any advice on what first?? Reading this, i was shouting "TAKE THE TABLE" Lol xxx I started in a salon this week (Tuesday) and my times have dropped by 20 mins x Ive done bits of Mobile before, and althought i allowed 2.5 hours for each client (Inc travel) i was always late lol....which doesnt make me look good!
Today, I had a girl booked for acrylics at 1130....I set aside two hous to do this and booked my next client at 2pm to allow for lunch. I got done, tidied my table...had lunch and a cuppa....set my table for my next set, and realised it was only 1345!
I think being in a salon, your less likely to get distracted by having a cuppa and gabbing too much while your doing nails...and your client has less distractions (Phone kids etc)

I think its very easy to get 'down' about things, but it takes time x My first day i had NO-ONE ATALL. Sat in a salon from 9am til 4pm, with nothing to do! Lol x SO the girls in the salon got their nails manicured, and hollywood toes lol x Like you said.....word of mouth to existing clients xxx

so glad you decided to take the table! after around 5 years in a salon i decided to go mobile and i love it (and i do not too badly) but i recently agreed to take a wee job 1 or 2 days a week just so i can keep my times "up"... i noticed that waxing/nail appointments etc were starting to take a wee bit longer because there was real pressure like there was in a salon... i think a lot of people shine under pressure xxx
