hi

i have my first client on friday for eyelash extensions so this is the first time i will have used my couch as at the moment i only do tanning and nails. Was just wondering what mobile people take with them for their couch in the way of pillows, blankets, trolley etc. my kit is all in one small box so that part is sorted but wasnt sure about the couch as this is the first client i have used it for thanks xx

I just try and make the couch as comfy as possible.

You will need a nice comfy head rest (I have the kind that hugs your neck) and a bolster for under their legs, as the client will be on the couch for an hour to an hour and half.

I always have a blanket in case the client gets a little cold, but rarely use it.

hth

Oh and good luck!!

thanks for your reply. so do i put a blanket or anything onto the couch for them to lie on or just couch roll and then have them lie on it? xx

I like to have a thick blanket on the couch with couch roll on top, that way it is nice and comfy.

I also keep another blanket with me as above.

Just had a look at your website - I think it's really nice! I love the colours and the whole display, very professional!!

thank you. Ruth Mills on here done it for me

Thanks for your help . was a little unsure what id need as my other treatments dont need a couch although i will be doing waxing as of next month. This is my first proper client with lashes and the couch so quite nervous but got a friend to do this week for a little extra practice so will use the couch and hopefully feel better after that lol xx

Best of luck! You will be fine.

Just remember to add on an extra 10-15mins to your treatment time to allow you to set up your couch and trolley and to pack away.

x

as its my first time setting doing it for a paying client im leaving loads extra time . I told the lady 2 hours which should be plenty time as im going to have the lashes laid out before i go as i know what look she wants. Then im just going to aim to get as many as possible in within 2 hours. All my practices have been good but i would like to get more in without running way over time xx

How will you be getting your lashes ready before going? I find it's taking me ages getting them ready. If I could get them ready first it'd be a great time saver but not sure how to transport them mobile.

im going to put them onto my jade stone thing i think its called lol. And have them stuck onto double sided tape laid out in what order i need them in. I have done this with each of my practice and it has saved me some time xx

So do you set them all up on your jade stone or do you set them up on something else then put them on your jade stone when you're using them?

What do youput them in when travelling? I was thinking something like a CD case but bigger/wider so thet the lashes don't get squashed. Don't know what though.

i try to buy all lashes that are stuck on the strips now so i can place them on the back of my hand. it saves me so much time, I have my timings down to 1 hr 30 mins now unless i have to take them out the pots and start sticking them to the tape.

That's what I plan to do but I've got loads of lashes in pots. I'm want to use up most of them before before buying more.

No they come in pots and each pot contains from 1500 to 2000 so you get an awful lot more in a pot than you do the cases with them already on strips, hth

That's what i thought, i'm confused now. Why do some salon geek members promote certain brands then use something else. It sends out a confusing message to geeks who look to this site for advice.

I was actually wondering what I'll have to do about this. I've just recently trained with Flirties(which was great) but I can't say I'm enjoying the loose lashes. I've ordered a wee pack of Mink lashes from ABX which come on a strip. Looks like most of their lashes come on ready stripped up. So if I decided I liked those lashes better and started using them, I'd have to change my website. But I haven't trained with them and only using their lashes.

Sorry, maybe this should be a separate thread.

well to be honest most of what i use is the brand i trained with the glue, the pots of lashes the remover primer and marketing, i was trained the flirties way so therefore i am a flirties tech, there is nothing anywhere else to say otherwise. If i converted over to another system then i would be become that tech etc, same as with nails.

Good point. So it would only be the lashes you are using that's different and that's not even all the time.
