How do you mobile therapists heat your towels that you take to a clients houses. I've been asking clients if i can use there water etc but not sure if this is the right thing to do.

Any advice would be appreciated x

Hi

I don't use hot towels but I know a few girls who use their clients microwaves. They never seem to have any problems....

Hi Sarah, Im kicking myself because i've torn out of a supply catalogue a page (could be Ellisons) that shows a small towel steamer (looked like a tefel veg steamer, wonder if that would work, could cook your veg at the same time LOL), also there was a insulated bag for pre-rolled and heated - in a microwave i suppose - towels. Could we not do this using a decent looking insulated food bag?. Maybe the more experienced geeks will let us know how they get by, i much prefer to remove product using warms mitts then using a bowl of water and mitts.

Microwaves work well, but you could also take a Thermos flask filled with hot water.

Could anyone advise on how long to heat in a microwave etc, I need to buy some heated booties but have spent up this month so will get next in the meantime I have 2 spa pedi`s booked in next week and have been heating my towels to wrap in the tumble dryer any other advise please. Sorry to jump in on your thread sarahjs. xx

bootees from pompadour were only around £25 the last time i looked xx

I usually put 3 or 4 in the microwave at a time (I use muslin squares soaked in a mixture of water and rose water and then wrapped in cling film) and put it on for about 1 and a half minutes and then move them around and another 30 seconds.
I then just wrap them in a small towel and they are more then hot enough up to an hour later (in fact I usually have to "faff" them around for a bit before using).

I use a hotstone machine (mine is tiny) If you type in on google wellness stones i think it's the 1st one listed. Think it cost me £35 or something near there. All you do is fill it with hot water and plug it in and it keeps them hot. Thats what all me and my friends use for it as i struggled with other methods and was scared incase i broke some1s microwave

There really should be no problem whatsoever asking your client if you can use some of their hot water or use the microwave...if you need a hot towel to treat them they should be only to pleased/happy for you to do so.

Maybe before you set off wet the towels and pop em in a plastic bag...when needed at the clients premises simply pop the lot in the microwave(bag and all) remove ...use and pop back in the bag to take home to wash

Maybe you could also take your lunch along also and pop that in the microwave with the towel also :lol::lol:

well i've just bought this lovely little white hot towel bag from Ellisons, just hope it works. a lot of people have mentioned microwaves but because I've not got one i have to think that there maybe one other person in the world who might not either ha ha, can't stand the things!! I think my Dad's to blame, all i can picture is the state of the bacon he used to cook or not cook more like, when we were kids x
