Helloo
I'm seriously considering training to be a mobile nail technician (currently looking into beauty courses as I would like to be qualified to do other things too..such as waxing etc) I was just wondering whether other technicians who are mobile enjoy their job, have a good amount of clients and whether they feel it's (can't think of a better way to put this!) good money!

I'm currently at university studying something completely different which i do enjoy but i've always had this in the back of my mind as something i would love to do...and just trying to get a bit on inside info hehe.

Would be great to hear back from you as soon as possible!
Take care
Jessica x:)

There is good money to be made from being a nail tech but its like anything...you have to be good. Its all about getting returning clients...and they will only do that if they are happy with what you do.

I would say get the best possible training...practice as much as possible...have yours work on all your friends and family...and don't give up in the first 6 months...(many do) it wont happen over night...it takes time to build a loyal clientèle.

Thank you so much for your reply. I definitely realise that i'd need a lot of practice as being someone that has had acrylic nails in the past regularly and having been to many different places i know that if somewhere doesn't cut it i don't even consider going again. So i would definitely have to ensure i was at a high standard.

I really just want to go for it and find the whole thing very exciting!

Thanks again x

I have been a mobile tech for the last five years and all my clients come by word of mouth ( i have not lost one yet ! ) there is money to be made and i would also like to offer other sevices as its something i am always asked !!! good luck ;-)x

Well i hope i can be as successful as you!
Can i ask where you trained? Or is there anywhere/anything you would recommend?
Thanks! x

i trained with united beauty there are very few courses offered in the south ! i use Star nails product and i have found them really good i had a chance to try all different systems and went for the L&P . It takes a while to get the hang of it but i have 25 clients all who book again and i only wanted five or ten so its really taken off ! think waxing is next for me as thats the thing i am asked about the most ! x

Bit of a sweeping statement IMO! CND, EzFlow, LCN, Biosculpture and Calgel all run courses in the South that I know of. There may well be more (Young Nails, NSI?).

The contact details of the Head Offices of all these companies are on here, I would contact them and see what you think.......

For the record, I am mobile and am CND trained. I only do nails, that's all I want to do, and I can think of no better job to have!
