Hi Everyone I'm a newbie here and already loving the site and all the posts:)

I've been a mobile beautician now for 3 years but it still confuses me on how much to charge for my callout I have a minimum callout so that's not what I need to know what I need to know is how much do you charge do you go by the mile, the distance (how long it takes you to get to a client)

I would really appreciate any help you have for me

Thanks

My treatment prices are worked out to include petrol costs upto 10 miles away from me, but if people outside this area want treatments i charge an additional 40p per mile, (but its mainly bridal makeup i do outside my area)

hth's xx

I too include the travell cost in my pricing. I will travell up to 10 miles, firther than this and I also charge 40p for each additional mile.
HTH

40p per mile is the maximum you can claim as a mileage expense tax-free at the moment (up to 10,000 miles per year) - above 10,000 miles per year it's 25p per mile - but you could still charge the client 40p per mile after that but just take the tax hit on the extra 15p...

Lol I dont do more than 10,000 a year including socialising! Wish i did do that many though...i'd have lots of clients...*dreams*

Thanks that's a great help I was really stuck with that

I am mobile and have a min call out rate- for eg i wont go out for less then £20, so if she wants soak off she pays £20, also I add £5 per zone , if soemone lives in central london wants me do maincure i tell her before hand and it
is £15 extra on top of the service received,
this is to eliminate people wasting my time as i have had on occassion a call out when i got there she forgot and was not home with no apology nothing- DONT DO GIRL named Venisha from Kingston, lies wrong tell no's given etc...

If you have your own carthen charge per mile or time taken to get to your client, because there are lots of mobile therapists and she CHOSE you for a reason - let them pay for you- remember - YOU are SPECIAL and are not a charity!!

Yeah I have a minimum call out of £15 and have peopleforget that I'm coming to them soooo annoying what can you do though do you charge for the callout then and would you get it??:| I don't understand £5per zone though I have just been advised by other geeks 40p per mile over 10 miles, my boyfriend advised me on time it takes to get to client but I find that harder to work out hope you get what I mean I'm starting to get harder in my biz as I have had a few people let me downand it's soo annoying only yesterday didn't turn up and she was coming to my house which I don't encourage usually but she suggested it then SHE DIDN'T TURN UP  grrrr I just hate it what do you do??

Hi All,

I just posted a similar thread about petrol and it really is confusing me and need heeeelp:grr:

I just had some great advice on here on how to charge for petrol as I am a mobile therapist and feel it is time that people take the mick a bit at out service to them so asked you guys how to charge for petrol:confused: and your replys made sense but I just had a client query now just 5 mins ago and she lives 20 miles away and I was going to charge her £4 for going to her which I don't think is that expensive :| but she seemed to go off booking with me when I told her that I was going to charge her petrol she was going to book a fair bit with me so I've lost that now I know I have but should I have not told her as she was booking a fair bit of treatments with me? :grr:

Whats the best thing to do to get the booking do you see what their going to book first and decide or do make it a rule to charge petrol whatever they book CONFUSED!!!

Pleeeease help me you guys I'm desperate

Love Kate xxxx:hug:

What is your usual travel restrictions? Most people include their petrol costs in the costs of the treatment. If she is outside the distance that you usually travel then I would tell the client you would normally charge excess to go outside your normal area but then tell her due to the amount of treatments she is having then you would waiver that charge for her.

What is the total amount of her treatments?

p.s. - I would have added this question to your existing thread about the subject. Just keeps things nice and tidy on here.

I have merged the two threads together to help keep track...HTH x

i would personally have asked what she wanted first, as i did a ladys nails at her sisters at christmas (in same town as me) and she has just contacted me to do her bridal party makeup, 2 sets of nails and a spray tan (she lives outside my 10 mile radius so should have charged her 40p a mile but as she is booking so much with me i didnt charge miles (think like this - you would be doing a few treatments in one place at the same time, it saves you time and maybe petrol than if you had say 3 or 4 seperate clients book for these treatments in different areas) if you get what im saying.
