My first client ......

Hi all

Ive just finished a intense Nail Tec course and have been practising on family and friends - had some flyers made up and posted them through letterboxes on the estate where I live. Ive got my first real client tonight who received one of my flyers. She is going for extensions with gel overlay. Im a little bit nervous although ive been doing quite well on friends using the acrylic system ive not had much experience with gel !! Ive been practising all day !! any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for your replies. Im all done now wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be and the client was really nice and chatty so that helped. Struggled a little bit with the blending and buffing - think I was a bit nervous of overdoing it and hurting the client - with family and friends I think I was a little bit more firmer and you can tell them to shut up !!!! But she said she was happy with them and just asked her to let me know if she had any problems or to email me if she had any feedback or suggestions!!

I work in my daughters salon now.like you i was a basket case when i did my first client at her home it was so awfull i can still remember how i felt.6 years later she is still a regular client with much better nails than she had then lol

When I did my first proper set, I was stuck in a room with a bunch of teenagers all chatting constantly with phones going off left right and centre!! Made it really hard to concentrate. Well done, I bet you're relieved now that you've done it!!

well.... ive not had a call as yet to say the they have dropped off so I am happy... got my second client on thursday having acrylics so im looking foward to that one as acrylics seem to be the system for me at the mo - I might even be a little bit more excited than loosing my virginity Redchick !! :lol:
