I am so horrified at the first fill I did on a paying client who had gel nails.
I am by no means going to give up I am more determined to become more skilled I have been In natural nail for over 10 years and now I am trying gels.
But I just want to go and have a drink how do you get over that feeling when you have an experience like that. Well I mean I am trying by writing this down but my client is on her way to Ireland and so there is nothing I can do until she comes back I mean from far away they look decent but up close .

what do you think went wrong hun??

you mean what didnt go wrong? the more I tried to fix the worse it became the weird thing is that about 3 nails came out close to persfect so i dont know I am going to call the manufacture tommorrow. I am calling her nails lepord nails some of them were that bad.
Is there a quick fix when something is going horribly wrong?

not really lol
what are you using, what went wrong what part??

Right on. How did they look? What exactly was wrong because you think like that?

I noticed my post didnt go up.
something repelled the gel my first thought is oil on the nails.
I scooped up some gel during my last coat and it looked globby so I am thinking during the service I contaminated my jar.
and my smile lines I had to paint with regular white nail polish to make them perfect in the end. The more I talk about it I dont think I was ready for her but I learnd a lot unfortunate for her she was an unsuspecting guinie pig. This also took me two hours.
:irked:

Keep at it! The more you do, the more you will learn.
I'm not trained in gel so probably can't give any practical advice but when I did my first ever rebalance I said to my husband that I was never going to do nails again. It was so awful. But it got better. (Still not great but have come leaps and bounds).

:)

hya its ok when i started doin them i was crapp! but now i am deda gud all done was practice getn every nail perfect and it pays off.:green:

Its all about practice practice practice! The main thing is make sure the nail is properly dehydrated i have had this problem recently with a nightmare client  Also if your gel is gloopy is it too cold in the room? As this can cause the gel to thicken and harden. If gel is applied like this it won't self level properly and look naff. L x

Have you done any training in gel systems hun?

Poor Missy ... Rebalances are the most challenging of the services we do.

It does help to use a product line that doesn't deteriorate and then the nails look like a new set every time you rebalance them.

Still remember to look at my signature ... PERFECT practise makes perfect!!

All the best. I'm sure you will master it the more clients go through your hands.

hi ya. Ive been doing gel for years and specialise in it so give me more of a detailed explanation about what exactly went wrong/what they looked like and Im sure I can help you. Just a question but.... were you sitting anywhere in sunlight while doing the infills? Maybe this is why the gel was being weird.
If gel was too thick - it was too cold/colder than normal. Did you cleanse/dehydrate the nail plate befor applying gel?
If you have any questions just ask.

Lou
ps, dont get depressed about it, I know its embarrassing but you have to go through stuff like this to be able to improve. If you dont see you are doing anything wrong then how can you improve yourself.

Now there is a nice offer. I'd take her up on it. She has made some very good points.
