COuld someone PLEASE help me?!!! Over the past while, my skin has been going crazy with spots. Not on my face, but all around the sides of my neck and up to hairline on the back of my neck. A while back, my shoulders broke out too, but they are ok now.

I am a skincare therapist, but this one has got me stumped. The only thing I can think of is that about a month and a half ago, I changed contraceptive pills because the one I was on was giving me really bad migraines. The one I changed too didn't agree with me either so I came off the pill altogether. I did face mapping with dermalogica and I thought anything hormonal was around your jawline. The neck indicated stress. I'm not particularly stressed though. I have been doing more hours in work the past couple of weeks, so I'm tired, but not stressed.

I always cleanse, tone and moisturise and I exfoliate about twice a week using eve taylor products (balancing). I never get spots, but these are nasty. Really sore, red mounds that sometimes have a white head and sometimes not.

Could someone help me with what's going on? And a way to reduce the pain?
Thanks guys.

So sorry you're having a tough time. Sending hugs etc.

For me - I'd be off to my GP - and ask for a referral to a Dermatologist if you're not happy.

Let us know how you get on, eh?

J.

The pill can cause some problems but what jumps out the most is heat. If you get hot and sweaty and the pores get blocked it can be painful. I have had this under my arms before and it is really painfull. Also check use of washing powders, perfumes etc that may irritate the skin. You may need a steroid based cream so check with the Doc.

I was wondering whether you have changed shampoo or any products you use on your hair, being that the spots are near the hair line? Or do ou use the same products but they have changed the ingredients in them. Let us know how you get on!

i have had the same problem before, I broke out in spots on my back, shoulders and around my hairline. I'd just recently changed my hair conditioner, and as soon as i changed back to my normal hair conditioner the spots started to clear up. hth
