Nail art foil?

When applying foil to the nail, do you just place it on and acrylic over-if using acrylic or use specific glue if no acrylic is used?
Then trim edges?

If you mean nail foils not the new minx,
you can not apply under acrylic as the acrylic wouldn't stick to a shiny surface,
you can apply foil on top of nail polish, acrylic, gel etc...
foils have their own adhesive in a bottle, looks like clear polish,
you apply this and it looks opaque, when it goes clear then you apply the foil to the nail,
you need to cut it first to the shape of the nail,
there is more to it but that is the basics of it hth
