Don't know if this is the right forum, but it is about nails.

My boss is a talented nailartist and she is going to make a book with step by step nailart and recipies for mixing the powders to do them. But will this be sold? would any of you guys buy this book if the price was about GBP 55 + postage.
The book would be with 100 pages and in english...

Just sendig this out to know if it is something we should try selling outside DK.

Me personally no i would not pay that price,
you can teach yourself to mix powders to get the colour that you desire,
and there are websites and nail mags that show plenty of step by step designs for free, once you have learnt how to do a few designs you can do others just by looking at the finished nail and using your own skills,
i don't mean any offence at all by my answer that is just my opinion hth

and that's what I'm after so thank you...:D

yeah imo it's too expensive, some Russian artists sell some for 30€... I don't speak Russian but you don't need to since the picts speak by themselves

Same here

for me to pay that kind of money it would have to be at least 2inches thick !! it sounds a bit pricey hun ..

I think that its too expensive aswell i'm afraid ;)
It is like they mentioned...once you have your techniques it isn't to hard to recreate designs and i think that for those who don't master them yet it is more interesting to go to workshops rather then to invest in a book where there is no one to straighten you out. Especially when the costs are high

Same here, I have some cheap books from hong kong just for the pics then recreate them with my own touch, once you see a pic anyone can recreate it and change it to there own it is a good idea but I don't think it will sell well.

Thank you all for the answers, I was afraid the price would be a problem, because things are more expensive to produce here in denmark...

Dont know exactly how much things cost in your country but another option would be to design a website and place the step by steps on there.
Maybe have a small joining fee to cover the running cost.

If you are hoping to make a profit and want it done profesionaly then you have to be prepaired for the initial outlay.

Like already said, its very steep is the price you are thinking of selling at and I would be very surprised if you get any takers.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I wouldn't pay that either i'm afraid if i was stuck I would come on
here and ask my geeky friends as they are very talented and helpful.
maybe if the price was lower I would purchase one.

Any book that is full of colour images cost a hell of allot to produce! The price you are quoting is not excessive when you know how much it costs to do BUT is more than most would pay I think.

One reason that 'nailclass' has been so successful is that there are no colour images included in the book which kept the cost of it very reasonable to produce. That decision made 'nailclass' affordable to anyone.

I just loooooovvvveeeeee that word "NAILCLASS":green:

I would probably buy something like that if it was relevant to what I was into.

Is it *only* liquid and powder? I'm a gel girl myself but I'm also heavily into nail art and airbrushing! :green:
