what is the difference between nail art on extensions and natural nails

There's no difference - except that I do sometimes use nail glue to attach rhinestones onto nail enhancements, but would NEVER do that on natural nails nail art.
Otherwise I guess it's the same.
Always use a basecoat before applying any colour to the natural nails so the natural nail does no 'grab' strong pigmented colours from your nail art paints or your enamels/polishes.
