Hi ladies, just a quick one! I've been set a nail art assignment this week and I have to paint five nails under the title of 'High Life' and I'm totally stumped. Just wanted to pick your brains on how you'd approach it. My other title was 'Metallica' so I've done a silver two tone design encorporating dots as 'rivets' so that ones sorted...

How would you guys approach 'High Life'? (And I don't think my tutor means the stuff of Amy Winehouse....)

I would go with things like diamonds and gold. hth

I would do a palm tree, bright sun and golden sand!

How about a plane or hot air balloon? Clouds or sunshine? Birds?

They're certainly 'high life' :)

Good luck with it hun, show us pics if you can.

You beat me to it I was gonna say Hot air baloon and clouds :)

How about bottle of champers and glasses?

good luck

How about coctails & diamonds or £50 note nails

Good luck
Sue:)

Fab ideas.

I thought about wine glasses / cocktails and things but I kinda steer away from the freehand nail art as i'm new at it and shake and wobble. One thing I can never judge is the distance between the brush and the nail when I'm just about to paint. Sounds silly but I find it a problem. I struggle getting rhinestones on acurately too. Argh!

Aside from some Mary Jane leaves (sorry that was the first thing that came to mind) I'd have to say that the real money nails would be a hit (there's that pun again).

I have this problem because I have no dept of field in my right eye and only 20% in my left which means I don't see 3d
Most people see though both eyes at the same time, if you have no or little dept of field then you are constantly switching your vision from one eye to the other, easy to fix, when you are bringing the brush into contact with the nail close one eye until you make contact. Takes a little bit of practice but it does the trick:confused:

£50 note nails sound great! I would see if someone has one (hmm, likely! Maybe a tenner would be more available?!) and see if you can colour photocopy it. Then do the same as with the $bill nails in the gallery (which are great) and perhaps either do them as lipstick nails or ordinary ones and perhaps do a gold line between the edge of the money and the rest of the nail, then you don't really have to deal much with the whole brush on nail thing.

Let us know what you decide, and we WILL want to see pictures! Good luck hun

How would you do these in a level 2 capacity? Would love to add it to my catalogue

These are some I have done before that could fall into that category - hope they help.
Pic 2, I thought you could use black striping tape in a similar way to look like a skyscraper?

Let us know how u get on

The link to a tut is here hun http://www.salongeek.com/nail-art-tutorials/27477-dollar-bill-nails.html

I don't have any pics of my own to share unfortunately, but if you do a search you will find some. I'm not really a huge fan of the lipsticks (I'll give anything a try at least once though!) but I think that style would lend itself well to the overall look that is hoping to be achieved.

I don't know if you have seen this lipstick pic, so here it is if it works, lol!

Kind of angled upwards. If you can't see the pic, here's a link http://www.salongeek.com/nail-geek/39143-whats-craziest-nails-youve-ever-worn-2.html

I did try to find Alltherage's nails, but couldn't find the thread.

HTH's

If you go to the lovely Kirsty Lunds page....'scratchers' and view her gallery, she has done a set of nails with dollar bill smile lines They may be of help you hun xxx

Hi hun :), here's the link to Kirsty's gallery, you'll find the dollar bills at the bottom.

When I said about putting a gold line through, I meant to separate the dollar bill from the mid section (zone 2) of the nail, not the free edge. You could either try to use a gold acrylic and embed it (I have to say I don't know if that's even possible - would've thought so) or a gold striper pen or brush would do the same.

As I said, let us know how you get on :green:
