Those of you that offer and do nail art... were you good at art before you started, or have you just practiced lots and got the skill that way?

This is one area that really interests me, and cant wait to start my nail course so I can get on some nail art courses too.

Dont know if I can add a poll to this?

HI

I just offer the nail art that i feel confident doing and I got confident by practising lots on long suffering daughters and mates. I like to add something new every few weeks but I roadtest everything I do before letting myself loose on customers.

There are some great nail art websites that offer step by step instructions and I also love to look at the galleries of the many talented geeks on here for inspiration (but I sooooo cant do the wonderful things they can!)

HTH.

I am so rubbish at art, If i draw a dog or somethink for my 6 year daughter and she says whats that.
But I have just finished my nail art course and i have really surprised myself because I am quite good and I am getting better with pratice.

Practice, practice & practice :)

Also, there are great techniques out there now (stickers, Konad, water decals, canes) that makes you a nail art PRO even if you struggle to draw a straight line.

Sure, free hand painting is still something you have to learn but at least you'll be able to offer your clients great designs right now.

I don't dabble too much in hand painted flowers and detailed pictures. I do like "flicks and dots" nail art I suppose because you can't really make mistakes!
