Hello!
Ladies, I need Your help and advice.
I'm a professional NailTech, trained abroad (not England), but I do have all the certificates for Gel nails (ibd), Acrylic nails (nsi), pedicures (Gena), nail art (kami) and waxing (depileve). I work in the nice English salon for 10 months, since March 2009. Start was very succesful for me, as I do give high quality treatments and people kept coming back all the time with no other advertising. Now I rent the place from the owner lady which is the beautician and works there as well. When I came asking for a job, she told me she would want 150 p/w. I said there's no way i can pay that, (especially in the beginning), so we agreed I would pay 40% for the fist 3 months. Its was ok for a while, but it was better for me to rent the station, which I do now. Now I pay 100 p/w (plus phone and streamline on top) which is very good for me, even if I have to buy the products myself and the last to months been very quiet. Owner did not expect that I be that successful and decided to increase the rent again. Her arguments is that "I will be earning loads and loads, so how can I pay the same all the time". I just don't think it's her bussiness to count my money and she does (I even saw that in her diary, she writes down what I earn). I dont think it's fair, but maybe I am wrong because I don't know the rent prices in my area - its hard to find out, other salons don't want to tell, I have asked around... So please help me, ladies from around Hampshire or Wiltshire, as I think rent prices in South and North really differ and it would be hard to find that out without your help...
P.S. I have to mention that I do pedicures as well and the pedicure chair its not really the proper professional one, but just a comfy soft chair, and its not really comfortable for me to work that way. The other thing is that I can only do pedicures when the beautician (owner) is not doing a treatment upstairs (the chair is based upstairs in the beauticians room), so sometimes its really hard and I have to turn my clients off because of that.
Sorry for the post that long, its my first one :o
