I had a client on Saturday who was an avid nail biter and had very wide nail beds to begin with. I think if she had any free edge to speak of I would have been able to fit tips with no problem.

I chose to scuplt them (which I now despise doing ) because that was the only option I thought I had.

When making the appointment she failed to mention this. If this was me, I would have mentioned this when making the appointment.

What do you do?

Hi there,
This is a hard thing.... I think scultping is the best way to go. U can try and tip but there is then even less nail for the enchancements to bond too.
I find it easier with clients like this to extend her nail bed , file the smile line nice and sharp... fit the form and sculpt out the new free edge. cap it in clear.

I always ask new clients when they book if they are a nail bitter....if they have nails on already ( i dont work on other techs nails) etc.

I charge more for bitters as they take longer and usually requier alot more prep due to all that extra skin/cuticle.

Absolutely the right thing to do ... to ask each new client how she would describe to you the condition of her natural nails. I ALWAYS have a greater charge for nail biters for the simple reason that it takes longer and more attention to detail ... they come with a big problem both physical and psychological so naturally it is going to cost them more.
