hi iam new on the site and it has given me a lot help i will finish my nail course in june we have to practice practice all the time but all my friends bite there nails so most have small nail beds and no free edge so when it comes to sticking tips on and blending the tip is half way down the nail plate then when you put product on like fiberglass you file then buff up for the shine you can still see where the tip is so the smile line is to far down so they look funny so i tend to cover up with nail polish
just wondering if there are any better tips that you can use for bitters
or any tips or hints to help me
My tutor says its best not to apply them till the nail grows but like friends are they all want them and iam not happy with the finish
please please help
thanks :irked:

There are tips that have no well and need no blending that can be applied right at the very end of the free edge which will help to elongate the look of the nail bed.

Another trick is to use an opaque custom blended powder that will cover up where the natural nail is and allow you to put the free edge where you want it with your white powder.

Both of these things may be advanced at the stage you are learning so a simpler trick is to simply paint on a french polish and place the white where you want it to be and disguise the nail bed with a semi sheer or semi opaque french colour.

You friends can also use a coloured polish to start with and in a few short weeks, their nails will have grown out sufficiently to look much nicer when worn naturally.

Lots of alternatives to make over the look of these short nails.

great advice as usual gigi,i couldnt have put it better myself.
i too was dredding doing nail biters and i still do to be honest but since learning and using these techniques i feel much more confident now as before i was never happy with the end result either.good luck.x
