“THE NAIL CHAMPIONSHIPS”
International Nail Competition
Professional Beauty, London ExCel 7- 8 March 2010

The heat is already building up for the Professional Beauty International Nail Championships taking place in London. If you haven’t entered a competition before, then now is a great time to go for it, with fabulous sponsors donating great prizes, goody bags worth over £60 and CPD attendance certificates for every competitor! With 14 categories (including 3 new ones) and 5 FREE challenges, there is something for everyone at each level, from natural nails, to nail art, and from the total novice to our experienced champions. You can also enter the Photographic or Showcase categories by sending your entry in by post, ideal if you can’t make it to the show. So why should you enter? Competitions are a very valuable source of feedback from experienced judges. The judges are available at the awards ceremony for that all important critique and every competitor in every category, wherever they are placed, always receives a very detailed score sheet. This is why many serious nail technicians enter the nail competitions, it is not just about the trophy, and it’s about pushing their knowledge and skills to the limit, coming out of their comfort zone and rising to the challenge. It makes good business sense to, as it will create essential PR and advertising, especially if you are placed. Local press are always delighted to cover your win, giving much valued and often free advertising for your business. Your clients would be delighted to know that they have a "winner" working on their nails and word of mouth soon spreads! You can further your career as your reputation in the nail industry will become widely known, you will make new contacts, this can lead to writing magazine articles, offering masterclasses and then you may even take the next step into judging! So why not give it a go, it’s addictive and like many others who have been competing for years, you will get the competition bug to!

The Nail Championships entry fee is from only £30, with a rolling discount for more categories and group/college entries, that’s less than most of us charge for a set of nails! Why not get organised early, get together with your team members and receive the special group discount. Judging numbers are allocated to you when your entry from is received by us so the quicker you get your entry form in, the lower number your model is given and this means it’s quicker for them to get judged. So do yours models a favour and get your entry from in quick! As an extra special treat for you both, our generous goody bag gift suppliers are also donating extra mini goody bags to everyone whose entry form is received by Friday 15th January 2010. The final deadline for all entries is Friday 19th February 2010.

Due to popularity, the Team Points Accumulator is again taking place at the Nail Championships, first introduced at Professional Beauty Manchester, allowing the individual technician to still compete as normal but also work together in a team to build up team points gained by placing 1st – 3rd in any category, and it is FREE to enter! The Student Nail Championships and the grand final of the Nail Championships will also be taking place, so it’s defiantly a competition for everyone, whatever level you are at.

The Nail Championships also sees the launch of an exciting brand new category, DIY Extensions, introduced for the first time in any nail competition. It is ideal for those who wish to compete but find it hard to get a model, so this time you get to do your own nails so no model required!

The theme for Showcase Nail Art, Photographic Nail Art, Photographic Natural Nails and the main Nail Art category is RAINFOREST. This was chosen by both judges and competitors so should prove very popular. PB has listened to feedback that natural nails also make an excellent nail photograph and as the entry numbers into the Photographic category are now so high, it has been decided to split it into 2 separate categories, one for nail art and one for natural nails, so there is something for everyone to enter. :)

The final entry deadline is on the 19th Feb, so a few more weeks to get your forms in!
