Hi there,

I was hoping someone could help please! I am starting my nail business from home in the area of northamptonshire and need to do my nail drill training and get a naill drill! Has anyone have any advice on where it is done and what to get. also insurance is also a bit blurry for me to. what do i do?! x:rolleyes:

Forgive the blunt question, but why do you need a drill? They aren't really that liked by clients (or to be fair a lot fo techs) in this country.

Personally I beleive you are far better to learn your craft by hand.....the fine nuances of file control and balance are a skill, and you will turn out far better nails in the long run if you become a master at this first. You can always add a drill at a later date, if you feel then there are area's you can effecetively and safely utilise it.

There are of course some good techs use drills, but IMO they are better becoming an add-on as opposed to the norm.

hi,

I recently did my electric filing training with Georgie Smedley of Ezflow, and it was fantastic, i was a bit dubious before i went as i have seen some of the damage that can be caused by using one incorrectly but me being me i wanted to have ago and learn how to use one.
In my opinion when trained to use one properly & safely it can have its place in the salon.

There is a geek on this site called Angelfingers ( susan) who is in Northampton who offers electric filing training, so i would contact her for all the information with reagrds to the training and what type of electric file to buy.hth

thank u so much. i would like to do drill training as i can do it buy hand but would like to be able to use a drill. i know some can damage nails but i think its alot to do with how it is used. i may not get on with it and prefer just to use a file but i would like to give it ago. once again thank u x

Hi Hun,
I did my e-file (drill) training with NSI, If you buy the e-file from them the training is about £30 + vat, but if you already have your own the training is about £100 + vat, there will be an NSI near to you.
I don't use mine a lot, but when needed, I know I am trained, and have my certificate for insurance.
Best wishes with your new venture.
Lotsa luv x
