Nail Enhancement & Pregnancy

I have just been asked if it ok to have acrylic nails done whilst being pregnant?!
I worked in a salon for my pregnancy around the fumes of acrylic and i am fine?! I also remember lots of pregnant ladies comming in to have them done.

Am I right in thinking its fine to have them done??

Hiya,

I started a thread on this a bit ago as I am trying for a baby.. They all said its okay as long as you have really good air ventilation and dust extraction and no over exposure to the monomer (which you usually would do anyway). Oh, and also wear a mask.

But, it is always best to check with your doctor first.

Yes it is absolutely OK to wear enhancements during pregnancy. It is not necessary to take any other than the normal recommended steps for safe working.

Hi,

I had my baby in March and tried to keep my enhancements going, but because of the shifts in my hormones they would come off. Mainly in the first and third trimesters, the second was ok. Just to keep it in mind so you don't waste money/time or product!!
