Hi everyone,

Can any one tell me how long it takes a finger and toe nail to grow from lunula to free edge.

I am revising for my pedicure exam and i have looked up this information and some say 3, 6, or 12 months amongst other things.

I know its differant for both fingers and toes but want to get it right

Hope someone can help

I was taught 6 months for fingers and 12 months for toes

I caused a bit of a stir with this one when we did our written paper for Mani/Pedi. Although we never actually mentioned toe nail growth in the coursework, i read it in a handout (a one liner which had been missed) that it was 'twice as long as finger nails' which is 6 months. I was originally marked wrong but had to be marked right when i produced the handout and it caused a debate between the tutors.

hi
I was tort 3 to 6 months finger nails and toes 12 to 18 months, it depends on your age.xx
