Nail polish, how to get a perfect finish??

Hya,

I'm a nearly qualified technician, and just can't get that perfect neat "magazine look" finish, as my painting never goes right. I've tried so many different varnishes, base and top coats, and methods of application, but can't create a perfect curve in the cuticle area. Can somebody help, please??

i found watching people helped , it took me a long time to get the hang of it , what i do is a apply a small amount (little blob) abit a way from the cuticle area just above the moon shape ( can not remember the proper name for it lol) then push downwards then pull back up and i kind of use that method to get it straight ... dont think im good at explaining in words now reading back on it lol.
