Hi guys I have had a look through the threads and cant find what i am looking for so starting a new thread.

I have had my extension off for about 4 weeks and it has been awful missed them soooo much. I went back to work today in the office :( but wanted to go back with nice nails so on saturday I applied my extensions.
I soaked them off because of nai seperation which i noticed on my nails and thought it best to give my nails a break, well four weeks on and my nails looked fine free edge as it should be nail beds as expected but today three days after appling my extensions i am noticing the little white lines going up my nail from the free edge, leading me to believe that seperation is occuring again :(. I dont want to soak them off again.... any ideas as to why this is happening or what i can to to prevent it or what i can do to stop it ????

Thanks for your input

Hiya

Is it the natural nail coming away from the L&P or is it nail bed seperation...?

Are you wearing your nails too long...?

hi angie, its the natural nail coming away fro the nail bed, no i dont think they are too long well within the ratio i have been told to use and no longer than i usually wear them. one thrid free edge to two thirds on the pink. might even be slightly less white than that

I know exactly what you mean. I used to get this a lot when id get bored with my nails and keep changing them all the time (4-5 times per week) and probably because i was getting a a bit carried away with the file. It normally died down after a couple of days though.
It doesnt happen anymore though as I dont need to do as much filing as i did when i first started out. HTH :)

It might be to do with excessive product shrinkage as it cures, causing the product to pull the nail plate as it shrinks. Does it disappear after a couple of days or is it there for good, also is there any pain or tight feeling on your nails? A too wet ratio can contribute to this.

HTH

IMO the worst thing you can do to your nails is keep removing and re-doing them....just keep infilling/re-balancing them.

Maybe your natural nails got to thin from possible over filling or removing on a regular base. i would keep your nails fairly short untill your natural nails grow back stronger. Youre enhancements don´t even have to be long to cause stress on your naturaly weakened free edge to get it to seperate.

thanx guys that helps loads will do what you suggested angie, and I think your right suzie it is due to over filing when i was changing them alot, thats why i gave it 4 weeks before reapplying obviously not long enough but i will leave them as is and infill as needed.
thanks again guys
