Ok.. I've been doing great with gel overlays.... but when applying a tip.... on some of the product I get lifting at the tip area..... not with the product.... What am I doing to allow the tip to lift from the nail bed? What do I need to do to prevent this from happening?

I would suspect that it is incorrect sizing of your tip and preparation of the natural nail.
Ensure you prep and remove shine, dust and contaminants from the natural nail, then size your tip
* match your tip to the nail type
* Fit tip from sidewall to side wall - it should sit nicely without having to press down
* blend tip if required

Most adhesives have a pressure set 5-10seconds, make sure that the adhesive has bonded.

Hi,

I agree with spn01 with proper tip application, but also keep in mind that when using gel with tips, you need to remove the shine off the tip as the gel needs something to adhere to. Without this being done, gel may lift off the tip.

awesome!!! Y'all are great thanks!

Is it the gel that is peeling away from the tip ?? If so you need to etch the tip before applying the gel and also always cap the edges of the nail to prevent this happening.

I have been having this problem too, and I have not been buffing the tip, so I will remember to do this from now on thanks everyone.

Hi Hun,
Take your time at sizeing your tips, make sure they are the right shape / style for your clients nail shape. If not they can pop up.....That is what it sounds like is happening to you.
Good luck.
Lotsa luv x :hug: x
