Hi all I am currently doing my training with CND in merseyside and would love to purchase a nail trainer, yet they are a bit pricey even on ebay £50-£70, I would however be willing to pay this if it would be of great benefit to me. Although I have seen cheaper hands on ebay, would these be just as good? or would you recommend paying out that little bit more for a better hand, if so what are the benefits of an essential nail trainer, or creative one???

Also I am really intrested in doing the Minx and Brisa conversion would you recommend this, or do you think I would be able to teavh myself iygwim, I am currently traing on CND foundation 5 l+p and creative spa manicure and pedicure. Also sorry to go on, does anyone know if I can get hold of a cheap nail trainer, apart from ebay, or is £50 good value,,,Thanks Guys

Considering a new nail trainer cost about 150 then I think 50 is good value provided it is in good nick and you also have all the accessories included.

There is no better training hand than the Essential Nail Trainer (the CND one is the EN trainer just logoed up with CND and the price is exactly the same as EN price.) the benefits? Instant access to a realistic nail to practise filing techniques, application techniques, nail art, rebalancing etc with no human interference! You need live models, but being able to practise one perfect nail at a time as and when you want is very important.

You will not be able to teach yourself Brisa Gels and you will need a class for that. As for Minx, there is an on-line training video on www.sweetsquared.com which you can watch and if you are a good nail technician you can pick up how to apply Minx quite easily .. the video is very clear.

Hiya Kate,

I wouldn't be without my Nail Trainer. I am sure if you invest in one you will not be sorry - it's my best friend lol.

IMO I would'nt even bother a looking at any other cheaper hands as I think you would be dissapointed as IMO they are not very good.

Good luck with your course

Agree with others, you should def. get the nail trainer not cheap imitations selling on eBay and other places.

Even though I don't use it anymore, it was invaluable during my first year, taking the course.

Its money well spent hun believe me mine has become my best friend!

The "real" Nail Trainer is much better that other trainer hands available on the market. It has a much more realistic feel, it has interchangeable nails you can replace once you've finished and the joints bend just as a human hand would. So i say it is a far better learning acessory than other cheaper hands.
Mine was worth the money even thow now i don't use it very often...
