I was wondering if anyone noticed.

I had minx on for 2 weeks and when I removed them I noticed softened areas of my nail. It looked kind of like nails that have been in water for too long.

I dont know if I am the only one that had this problem....

After an hour, the spot disappeared but I felt slight irritations for the next couple of days. My nail seem weakened.

Right now I am debating whether I should apply a coat of gel before applying minx.

How did you remove your Minx? There is a correct way and an incorrect way. The incorrect way can cause some de-lamination of the nail surface. It's nothing to worry about but will need moisturizing with Solar Oil.

which way do i take minx off? left to right not top to bottom then solar oil? xxx thanx

There is a little more to it than that.

The longer Minx is on the nail, the harder it clings to the surface AND the more it dehydrates the surface of the nail. It really would not be any different with people who wear polish without a break for months on end.

You need to warm the Minx thoroughly and then gently peel them off under the heat from the side to the centre and the other side to the centre .. I find this puts much less pressure on the surface of the nail plate than tearing it off in one go.
