Hi, i am a fully qualified beauty therapist and recently opened a salon, thing is although i am looking into it now i never really went the nail extension route, so would like some advice.
I took on a nail tech and i use calgel, at the start everything was great but recently there have been a couple of clients came back with only a couple of nails left on after only a few days saying they just sort of pung off, not just the gel but the whole extension.
Technician says must be gel but could it be something she is doing wrong?
Your help would be appreciated as like i say its not an area i know loads about, x

Hi I use Calgel and find it to be a really good product, if nails are pinging off then I would think she maybe isn't preparing the nail properly, or maybe the gel isn't curing properly, do the bulbs need replacing in the lamp? Geeg posted a great thread about UV lamps earlier today have a read at that. hth:)

Do you use L&P? Maybe that gel is not for some of your customers !!!

I dont know much about the product Calgel, but my comment would be that if you have only recently opened your Salon, try to get to the bottom of this problem quickly. As i am sure you are doing, hence your post.

It is just so easy to get a bad reputation for nails or indeed any treatment, but because you are not doing the nails yourself ,you feel you have no control.
There are lots of reasons why nails just ping off,you cannot just blame the gel-and leave it at that.Usually if a nail comes off all in one piece,it never really bonded in the first place.Check Prep and first stage of application.
Maybe it is the gel- but do you think your nail tech should be asking these questions herself?
Or perhaps she should call her/your distributor and discuss this issue asap.
I know this has not answered your questions, but a simple call may?
Or do a search on Calgel on here and check the steps that other users find works for them.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the advice, its a fairly new lamp but ill maybe change the bulb anyway to be on the safe side, hopefully ill get it resolved soon, thanks again xx

Is she prepping the nail properly ???
Also she could be applying the gel too thinly and it is just cracking when the client uses her hands.

just had another phone call today, lady was in last week getting her infills and now has hardly any left on????????.
