Just when you thought the red carpet couldn't get any more competitive, the ingenious people at E! introduce the Mani-Cam. Now that nails are top of the treatment list, this new technology is basically a box that celebrities are asked to put their hands in so that pics of manicures and jewellery are easily obtainable.
Gone are the days when editors searched tirelessly for a manicure shot that wasn't pixellated beyond recognition. The Mani-Cam now puts every celebrity nail in high definition and in all its glory. But, it begs the question, just how far will nail companies go to make sure their product is looking fab on the fingers of A-listers when the Mani-Cam comes round?
There's no doubt that each and every nail brand is going to be scrambling to create dazzling digits for the stars in much the same way that designers want to dress them. The Mani-Cam has thrusted the nail to the front of the red carpet and if we like what we see, what do we do? Buy it.
