So I was at it again.....and disclaimer:

If you are newly trained or uncertain in your skills, you should *alway* use the products and procedures of your chosen system.

OK, with that out of the way.....a month ago I ordered the Avolve trial kit and was blown away.....expecially by the clear l&P, the cuticle exfoliator and dehydrator. Avolve utilises a wet prep. The other systems I have used use wet prep (TT, NSI, IBD) and I took an EZ Flow course last month that utilises dry prep.

Had a client last month that I did 100% EZ Flow and she had extremely oily nail plates (17 years old)....I mean I would put on the EZ Flow dehydrator and within 3 seconds she was shiny again. I proceeded and she called me two days later that her nails were coming off.

I was having the same problem with myself too and figured I needed to work on my prep routine with dry prep being a new routine for the old dog.

SO, in order to confirm that it was *not* my prep routine with EZ Flow, I redid myself, one hand EZ Flow SOP and one hand utilising the Avolve cuticle remover and dehydrator.

Fed up, I redid her sculpts and I used the Avolve dehydrator and then applied. Those suckers are still on, three weeks later.

I gotta say that, once again, the Avolve has come out on top for me. I think its the wet prep and maybe the fact that I am used to that as opposed to the dry prep - as I'm so afraid with DP that I will scratch the nail plate or be too rough whereas with the wet prep, its a non issue regarding damaging the nail plate.

As always, your mileage may vary, just my .02 in the discussion.

Peace
Nancy

So, you think it is the wet prep that has made the difference? I wonder if the dehydrator also helped. It would be interesting to add this into the experiment
1. all ezflow
2. wet prep then ezflow dehydrator, primer and L+P
3. wet prep, avolve dehydrator, then ezflow primer and L+P
4. dry prep, avolve dehydrator and then ezflow primer and L+P

Hmmm, don't think I've missed any! LOL

I do think the key is the Avolve dehydrator. That stuff is the *bomb*.

I've done three of the four you listed. The only one that I've not done is #2. Now where is my 15YO son? (LOL)....

I'll let ya know ;-)

Nancy

Yup, that's the key to telling if it is the dehydrator that is the issue. Let us know once you pin your son down! LOL xx

It's more than likely both ... chemically removing cuticle
and the use of a dehydrator.

"Intense Dehydrator" is just that, it's an intense dehydrator.

OK, I did manage to pin the boy down....hell I even pinned one of his mates down, and I used clear again cos that was all they'd let me do. (hmmmm I wonder why???)

Anyway, yeah its definitely the cuticle remover and dehydrator that is doing the trick. But what is really cool, is when I soaked them off again, the ones that really TOOK, didn't take longer to remove and the nail underneath was perfect.

So there is one more issue solved. Blinded with science, yet again!

peace
Nancy

ORRRRRRR...........Builder resin, activator and crystal acrylic........=stuck like glue

Sorry, I'm not following.....did you read the original post? Why would I use builder resin with L&P?

Great work. It's always interesting to prove a theory to yourself.

have a peek at Sina professional nail products......catalougue, pg 15 (Or around that) French resin Kit.......Ive never had nails stay on like these!!!!!!!!

Eni, you are starting to unravel what's behind Avolve, it adheres very well, yet does no damage .... :)

I'm loving the fact you are in New Zealand, yet using Avolve way over yonder. It's a very new product (even here in AUS), but I get calls almost daily.

It's funny when people say "it's like magic", it makes me and many others very proud.

Oh, 'tis a cruel world being stuck here in Britain. Not only can we not have BBQs on the beach at Christmas <or many other times of the year, come to that, with our mercurial weather>, we can only press our metaphorical noses up against our geeky windows about this new stuff!
