Gods knows!
Hello

Last week I had a new client she had L&p done at a local nns, my appt was to remove the old L&P and redo them for her. My problem is that the old acrylic was so hard to get off tried soaking..but that wasn't working very well on all of them and when I tried filing then down she was in pain because they had been fiiled away so much by the nns that they was wafer thin :irked: The acrylic on her middle finger was on but where the nail plate was thin under this has broken, cause a line from side to side just where her free edge starts....it was a mess couldn't get all the acrylic off and couldn't file too much...so i made sure it was all clean and reapplied L&P, but she has just called me saying that it has lifted and has a plaster round it.

Shall I redo the whole nail again and make sure the natural nail is all clean and reapply?

Advice would be great

It might have been a better idea to have just infilled the nails....than remove it all. It saves the natural nail the trauma of trying to get mma (which is what it sounds like) off.....after a few rebalances with you the old stuff would have grown off and she would have been left with your product on her nails...but its done now....for this nail I would remove any free edge (its not worth saving if its in such a state) and start from scratch...re-tip/sculpt. x

Thanks Bagpuss
Your right it would have been easier to infill , but she wanted them removed...the middle natural nail has torn free edge has broken away from the rest of her nail, but still attached to her skin if that makes sence.....so you think just clean it all up again and redo?...it's because her nails are so thin, everytime she grabs something its causing the acrylic to lift

Thank-you

Remove all the free edge as low as you safely can. if the break is lower than that and attached to the nail bed then clean well and use nail adhesive to seal/fill the crack. This will secure the nail. Then re-tip the nail and continue with your product. Keep her nails short...really reduce the legnth...the less length there is the less chance she has of catching them, just until the damaged nail has grown out.

i'd go mad if u went to a salon and that happened wouldn't u, how do these salon's get away with it i do not know!!

Shall we go to number 10 downing street and protest to make it illegal!

hope you manage to sort this.xx

Thanks hun

I will do this ....thanks very much for your help. Blimey wish I had just stuck to my guns and done the infill....her nails are a terrible mess..she has a great big drop from about 3 mm where they have filied away her natural nail.

Nailsand beauty yes it does make you mad, but I think it's something we just have to learn to " reapir/fix(although hate the word fix) because these places will always be around :)

xx

Thanks to this site I did just this on a client a while ago. If you see this again then you must stick to your guns. Let her know that you could cause more damage removing them and you are not prepared to risk it.
