Hi everyone!!

I'm sure there are some brilliant crafters amongst you, and after googling and coming up with only half of the answer that I need... I thought who best than my geeks to help me sort out this riddle.

I have the thought of personalizing Pillar candles to use as centerpieces for the tables at my wedding.
I would like to add an image and some text to the candles.
The candles will be either White or pale/mint green, with black text & image.

I have googled and found this site and similar, that answers 1/2 of my question:
Conjure Crafts: Altered Pillar Candles

My other half of the question is this:
If I create the image and text on my computer, and want to print it on paper that is either A) see-through (transparent) or B) will TURN see-through once the modge podge has dried...

What paper do I use?

And what other tips and/or tricks can you offer towards this project?
(and can this paper be also used for making nail transfers/decals??)

Many thanks in advance for any ideas or answers

Victoria, you could probably print it on overhead acetate for overhead projectors. You can buy the type that can be printed on from your inkjet printer. This could then be glued onto the candle with a glue that is either clear, or turns clear when it dries. I'm not sure how the acetate would react if the candles burned down to it though! Better be careful!

I don't know if you could use it for decals. It may melt with the monomer or the ink may smudge, but worth a try. Make sure you leave it to dry for quite some time, evernight at least. Let me know if you try it!

I do know that I need to use "modge podge" that is non-flammable and dries to 'clear' to adhere the decal/image to the candle.

thanks for the idea, but a flammable transparency on a candle that I will light is probably not a good idea:lol:

Is there a paper that will turn transparent once moistened with the modge-podge and ahdered to the candle?

Wouldn't the paper be flamable too? xxx

that's what I thought too....
but someone said that there existed a paper that was 'safe'?
not sure what that means LOL:lol:

Thanks oodles!!
Will look into that!!
