I have milia, acne, u name it, things pop up everywhere and are irritating me ALOT. I've been using the following creams and stuff:
TCP
OXY10
Germolene
Clearasil wipes & cream.
OXY9 Wipes

And they seem to just keep appearing, They are tossing my self confidence left right and center because for a month ill be looking great with hardly any and then another few months ill look like crap and just sit in programming & making money. Here is a picture of how bad it is right now (22nd Sept 2008).

I've tried several methods of removal the main one i use is using a completley unsteril needle and stabbing it but ive found out that really does not work with milia, it works with spots (white heads) which i pop as soon as i see the sign of one. I've tried the hot flanel to open your pores then washing it roughly, then putting a freezing cold flanel on your face to close them, it hasnt worked, I work on the computer for a living in a smoke filled room and i only go out now and again and when i have college which is only 3 days a week. So if any of you girls can give me any methods to remove these nasty things i would appreciate it alot, Thanks <3.

Have you tried your GP there is medication that can be prescribed to help with your condition hth

Hmm no i have not seen my GP about it yet, but i will do, thanks =]

I agree with loubylou, you need to see your GP, who will prescribe you something.

Keep in mind, medication is not always fast acting for skin conditions, so be patient and stick with it, and in the meantime try to eat healthily and drink plenty of water.

Also, try not to pick, as picking spreads germs and might scar your skin.

Your skin looks very similar to mine when I was younger. Not like acne that seems to cover all areas of the face or large groups of spots in one place, but large spots dotted all over the face - still a type of acne.
There is several different things my doctor tried to help me such as: a small daily dose of anti-biotics (this was stopped because you can become resiliant to it), a tablet taken everyother day to prevent sebum production (this stopped because of a bone side affect) and finally a solution to be applied to the face and back twice a day, smelt exactly the same as vodka! This was fab and worked for me.

Deffo go and see what your doctor recomends, they see this all the time so theres no need to be worried.

Thanks, Also could this have anything to do with hormones because i am 16, and I'm pretty sure they're bouncing off the walls

hey I am 27 and still suffering with spots!!!! badly thank god for cover up makeup thats all i can say but I went to the doc and he perscribed doxycyclin it has helped some so go to your docs. and my suggestion STOP with all that oyx clear stuff as its very harsh and strips your natural oils which encourages your pores to produce more oil which you dont want. Try a gentle clenser and water and give your skin a break from all the chemicals you've been putting on it :)

Definitely check with your GP as said before. with everything you're using on your skin no wonder its flaring up, its making it worse rather than calmingit down. use a very mild soap or cleanser.. make sure it doesn't contain SD alcohol, and use a calming moisturizer till you see your gp. if you work long hours. keep a travel sized cleanser in your bag and wash your face every few hours while still at the office.
Please don't pick your spots as you'll have marks that will take ages to go away, and you could end up having the same spot again in the same place cause you;ve damaged the pore!!
pm me if you need any further info.

hope that helps, sorry if i seemed too bossy :)

good luck

I sometimes suffer with spots when its that time of the month.

I used to used that freederm, that worked wonders, but it would dry my skin out. Anyway, i have just invested in a new Waxing Kit, and in it came some 'Clear It' blemish control. Its for any kind of brake out, its non drying and very quick acting. I only used it for 2days and it took all the inflammation away and i am now only left with some little red marks, that will go in a few days. It smells gorgeous as it has lemon oil in.

PM me if you want a link on where to get it form.

(i am not selling anything here, i am giving honest advice)

Freederm that's the first one i tried it did not seem to work. I'm going to book an appointment at my GP and see what he can do for me, also a tip do NOT attempt to put toothpaste on your face thinking it will sooth your spots, it just feels like ur face is freezing slowly and it sucks. ;D

I would contact your GP, an alternative to this is speak to your nearest Dermalogica salon. Dermalogica have a brand new range out called medi-bac.

Definitely see your G.P then get a recommendation from a skin professional in your area for products to use. None of the face washes you can buy in the highstreet really do anything to help the problem and usually make them worse especially the ones that leave you skin feeling tight and "squeeky clean" after use. Also changing products all the time will not help the skin. If you do need to pop your spots make sure your hands and anything you use are clean. You can put Savlon on a spot at night to reduce any infection if you are able to use Savlon. You are probably making the infection worse by popping them with a dirty needle.

The doctor may give you both a topical and an oral treatment to heal them.
Another tip is to turn change your pillow cover regularly as oils from the skin and hair will be transfered to the pillow and back onto your skin.

It deffinately sounds like a hormonal problem and one that you will more than likely grow out of but for now the GP should be able to help reduce the problem, you may need to be forceful when you explain how much of a problem it is for you as some GPs are not as sympathetic as others!

I had acne as a teen and so I can really understand how you feel.

Thought I'd chime in on this one too: Most of my children are grown and gone, but my 3rd youngest (Kate) is 22 and she was my only one with skin problems. We combined a healthy diet (lots of raw veggies especially) with TONS of distilled water (drinking), use of a Proactive regime and ice on her face first thing in the morning after the shower and her skin cleared up in no time. I do think that what you eat has a lot to do with your skin - the water was to flush her out and the ice reduced the swelling (I still use ice in the morning for my under eye bags). The Proactive was gentle but effective.

When we went to the GP, he just prescribed some topical creme (I recall it was a type of steriod) and an oral antibiotic but Kate (nor I) was comfortable with either so we just went with our own recipe above.

I agree with other posters: Don't Pick! ox

Step away from the needle mate..
I just wanted to say that what you do now.. ie pricking skin with needles and such will damage the skin and leave scars.. pimples go away scars do not..
like everyone says see your GP.. but also remember this.. your 16.. its something most of us went through.. dont fret too much.. it sucks and they hurt and yea.. they can look bad.. but its all part of the deal when you are a teen..

so yea.. My advice is go and see a skin pro.. and get a good cleaning routine.. drink heaps of water.. and keep your hands away from your face.. (dont sit staring at the computer screen rubbing your face and spreading the germies)

best of luck.. but dont worry too much just yet..

Thanks a lot for the advice girls <3, I've made an appointment to see the doctor about it and see what he can do about it.

Hey,
I'm with Tissy, the Dermalogica products are really amazing for clients who suffer from bad skin and their new range is even better. Like people have already said it is probably down to your hormones and untill they settle down it probably won't go away but using good products can help you. Also Microdermabrasion facials are excellent for problematic skins, we see loads of acne skins for that treatment where i work. If you want any more info on that pm me.

Ok well i went to my GP and she gave me 2 things:
Zinenryt - apply in the morning
Duac - For at night has some form of antibiotic in it.

That should do the trick just make sure you only use as directed and be patient. Both can make the skin a bit scaly and sore if you use too much.
