Can any of the London geeks tell me how far it is to get from Gatwick Airport to Docklands please?

Tried looking on the net but not found any relevant info.

How? By car? Just put it inot AA Route finder and you'll get directions and exact mileage.

Flying from Manchester to London Gatwick. Need to then get to Docklands by quickest way poss.

Tell me the station in Docklands and I'll find out for you. Are you going to Excel? Are you hiring a car at Gatwick or taking public transport?

I would take the train from Gatwick airport to London Bridge and change onto the Jubilee line (tube) which goes to Canary Wharf and Stratford amongst others.

You can check out a route on this site:

Just wondered if there is any special reason for flying? If you don't drive(?) couldn't you get the train? Gatwick isn't terribly handy for Docklands...

shame theres no airpot near me well luton is and then we could travel up together

If you get stuck let me know and will see what we can do

We are going to andys waxing workshop at thalgos head office - hence - docklands

After a bit of nosying around on the net I have found that an airline called VLM fly from Manchester to City Airport London, so have got my travel agent cousin on the case to see if he can get me a cheapo flight. This will be a lot quicker and less stressful, bit might hit my pocket a bit more. WTS.

Hi Julie, it's a 30 minute direct train from Gatwick Airport to London Bridge tube station for £17.00 return, then only another 15 minutes by tube to the venue (Jubilee Line from London Bridge to Canary Wharf, then take the DLR to South Quay or Crossharbour). If you can get a cheap flight to Gatwick, it's really easy, honest - and this is coming from a country boy, lol! I can send you directions if needed :D

Alternatively, it's a 3 hour train journey from Manchester to London Bridge, with one change at Euston, for £65.50.... (even better, you can get a cheap day return for £31.00 if you book in advance!). It does make for a long day, but at least it's relatively cheap and easy! :D

Hope that helps :)

Hi Andy,

thanks for the information, it is nice to have alternatives. Once I told my other half my plans when he got home from work tonight, he kindly said he would drive me down to London if I want. Isn't he a darlin? My god will I pay for it though - LOL, I'll be making the tea for the next 6 months!!

Bless him, you've got him well trained, lol! :wink2: :D

What have I missed? Axiom (Andy) running a course? Where, when and how much?

Just checked it myself - 2 places left a.m. and only one place left p.m. so you need to be quick!
