We've been going for 3.5 years now and have achieved a good name and excellent growth over the years. Last year (summer), we couldnt cope with the demand, so this year I hired more staff so I have now got 2 x full time therapists and 3 p/t ones. Only trouble is, I have rota'd them in over the summer so that there are between 3-5 therapists on daily and we are having a SHOCKER!!!! Where is everyone? This is supposed to be our hay making time! we market - newsletter, texts and emails - we have over 2000 clients on our books.....so its not for lack of trying to entice people in. Is it that schools are breaking up later - although living on the border of Glos/Oxon makes for different starts in school holidays and the private schools have already broken up....
What am i doing wrong? Its making me feel sick :( how can i turn it around???? I'm sat at home data entrying the dermalogica stuff into the new site, so I am away from the coal face, but this needs to be done as we are losing out on revenue from there as well. (took a while to save for the new site to be built!).

Saturdays used to be so booked, we would have people on a waiting list and this Saturday is RUBBISH!!!! ARGH. Please anyone - someone - tell me I am not the only one?! Is it the weather? Football? It cant be?!

do you have clients email addresses or mob numers?

could you not contact them and offer 10% off this weekend only?

last week was quiet for us, this week is busier. how long have you been quiet for?xxx

Well, June was OK. Same as last year - so no growth but at least it was not less. Last week we were £1000 down on what we did last year (£350 of that was Dermalogica which we would have normally sold online) but I cant really afford to be down that much for 1 week!!! This week is average Mon-Weds not great about 90% booked Thurs and Fri and SAT 50% booked......

I only do mobile spray tanning and live in Oxfordshire and I'm having the same dilemma. It seems to be unusually quiet for this time of year.

Not sure if it is because of the weather or the amount of competition around now!

Me too!!

Last month was my best month ever since starting my business, this month it's almost back to when I first started a year ago!!!!

It's really worrying and I have no clue why, I actually started to doubt my abilities thinking people either don't like what I'm doing or me! I'm hoping that's not the case, lol

I'm the same, keep thinking that all my clients are going off and using other people but I don't really think this is the case. I think people are enjoying the lovely weather and keeping hold of their money!

I hope this is all it is anyway.

I have been in business (salon not mobile) for 14 weeks and business is so busy. I had expected it to be quite quiet to start off with as I am new in town but however I am so busy with everything i offer. There are only 2 other salons where i stay an from what i can gather from clients there is nothing up to date about either salon so clients have turned to me. Maybe its cause im new and they are trying me out but i can honestly say in getting good feed back from every1 and they are repeating business with us. I dnt know how much u are all charging for treatments but i have found that people like a bargin. I have braught my prices in as cheap as i can afford and baring in mind the training and experience i have (NSI, O.P.I, DERMALOGICA, fake bake, kim lawless waxing etc) my prices are reasonalble. I do know that price is quality but for me in a gossipin town it has worked. People get a treatment they are happy with, tell there friends, they like the price and i'm gaining at least 2 clients from every client. Also for clients that are not returning for treatments that usualy would have may be tight for cash - in which case if they see a price de-crease they may book. Even if its just by £1 its a saving. I really hope i dnt see a drop in business any time soon. Hope this helps x
