Hi Guys, I need help. Can anyone advise if there is a gun that will attach to the mini mist machine. I purchased my mini mist 2 years ago fro STC company. It is a great little machine for a the job but I find the gun unpredictable, I do as I should clean every use with warm water, use W40 to lub it, but when I spray it stops and starts and it is now getting to the point that I am wasting solution, so it is giving me the hump. Do I ditch the machine or find a new gun to fit it, PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME:eek::eek::eek: Dawn xx

Hi Dawn

I know you've said in your post that you clean your gun after every use, but do you actually strip it right down? (ie take the needle out) If not, try taking it apart completely, clean it thoroughly making sure that the feeder tube isn't gunged up. Put it back together and try it again. Don't forget to also clean out your filter on the bottom of the unit.

If this doesn't solve the problem, then I am sure that the company you originally bought it from will supply a replacement gun, although you will probably have to pay for it since it is 2 years old.

Hope this helps:hug:

have you damaged the needle atall?

Hi

Thanks for replying quickly, have just stripped down the gun after following the the thread for "stripping down the gun". Funny when I purchased the equip.ment, they never told me how to do this or told me that it was that important. So I have put all back together and seems to be better, but still the spray dips in pressure occasionally, really weird it sorts of coughs, but doesn't stop altogether which it was and goes again. I don't think I have damaged the pin as I am so careful. Is this the only gun that fits this machine.? Thanks for you help. By the way what machines do you have. If changing I would like a machine that does less overspray, but with the flexible hose, not a hose that is stiff and non flexible.

Dawn...I relay dont think you need to change your machine...is the air flow coming out of the machine consistant..if so it sounds as if its just the gun you need to replace.

To much overspray can also be caused by having the outlet volume set to high...try turning it down...you should be using no more than about 45ml...try and get it even below this to around 35ml.
Most suppliers will be happy to supply just the gun...would save you a lot of money as generally speaking the actual turbine will last for many years

Hi Dawn

Sounds like you had the same problem as I did... and I have had two new motors. I had it supplied through Couture and during my problems they were very good, and loaned me machines whilst mine was in for repair.

I went through all the scenarios that you stated and on the last time the manufacturer (through Couture) stated that it was the Motor and NOT the gun. My gun like you was clean of solution or any crystalisation that can happen.

I comes down to the Motor being constantly used and not being allowed to cool down. This is difficult as you know if you are doing lots of tanning. The T100 is only for low use....

You need to look at getting a machine that is up for the job.. and can cope with medium to high usage....

It is such a worry, and I felt sick when I equipment stopped working.... the spitting is not great and you end up going back over what you sprayed and wasting solution and money.

I am now swapping to a compressor.... great bit of kit... Certainly get the machine sent back and checked by the manufacturer (mine went back to the states), for a full investigation. If it is still in warranty, perhaps a new motor would be good.

I hope this helps... and Good Luck.

The T100 has been superseded with the T200 for a while now.
The reason for the change is basically for the very reasons you mention here.
In the UK (despite the fact the electricity providers deny it) we have the worst fluctuating voltages in Europe ...due to high peaks in demand on the network the voltage at your socket outlet drops considerably.

Now the old T100 motors weren't really robust enough (manufactured in China)to cope with this voltage fluctuation..hence the T200 has an upgraded motor.

This also helps in enabling more tans to be undertaken before over heating occurs.

Which machine to go for does very much depend on available funds at the offset.

If your budget is low then the T200 makes an ideal machine.
if your business subsequently grows then upgrade to a bigger machine..keeping the T 200 as either a back up or for those mobile jobs

Thankyou to you all, I have been advised that machine is an old version of the T100, so I have decided to try a new gun and Colin quite happily will have it back if it doesn't work. It is amazing to know how the machine works and it is sooo nice to have professional advice that is sound and above board and I don' t have to spend alot of money hopefully to put it right.:green::green::green::green::hug: THANKS AGAIN

Hi all

Just to update you, received new gun today ordered only yesterday from the lovely Colin, tried straight away and YIPEE:green: it works beautifully a wonderful stream of solution. As Colin says it is the gun that does all the work. So always good to ask for help and info before spending a shed load of money.

Secondly, need a good foundation for a friend who goes clubbing and needs a good coverage foundation without looking claggy. I like Mac Studio fix, is there anything better out there?

Thanks

Dawn
