Iryna and I are publishing a new nail art magazine and are looking for great quality step by steps or educational articles (eg. experience competing in nail art competitions) for the next issue. We need to receive the content latest August for consideration.

I won't mention the name of the mag, as I don't want this message canned. Those interested will find info on other forums.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Bob & Iryna

Can you Pm me the links to the other forums where we can see the info please,
im sure you will get lots of requests asking the same

dont think im anywhere near Iryna`s standard though lol xxx

Done ;-)

The designs don't have to be ultra-advanced. We want to show a range of step by steps suitable for Beginner to Advanced. In fact, each SBS will be colour coded with the level of expertise required. As people develop their skills they can then go back on historical issue and work on the next level.

A magazine that only shows SBS which elite artists can make would be of little use - they know how to do it already ;-)

However, the design, technique and photo's have to be high quality. It's possible to do this with a compact camera, especially if you use natural day light and turn off the flash or put scotch tape over the flash.

If the design is inspiring and the photo quality poor, one possibility is that Iryna copies the nails, we make photo's and credit you with the design.

Sam - I've emailed you.

Yes, it will be available in the UK ;-)

Well, this post worked! Had three super replies so hopefully issue #2 will showcase some UK talent. Excellent! :)

#1 goes to the printer Monday. Then I can sleep!

Many thanks to everyone who has contacted us about the new nail art magazine! We've received emails from the UK, USA, Australia, Spain and even Brazil - some offering photo's for future issue and others asking about subscriptions.

We will receive printed copies of the magazine next Monday, so now that date is fixed I will announce prices in the next few days.

Also, feel free to visit Iryna's blog below to find up what she's up to. We have a lot more ideas and plans!

Hi I would like to know what the magazine is called and things and would be interested in haveing a go at some nail art that could go in it although it would only have to be something for beginners as I am only a beginner myself xx

magazine looks fab, will certainly try and come up with something and would love to get hold of a copy too, well done

Hey Laura16! Each step by step is categorized by the level of skill required : Beginner, Medium and Advanced. So there will be a mixture every issue. The cool thing about this is as the tech develops their skills they can then go back to older issues and work on the next level of SBS.

Where a step is complex and can't be describes with text (e.g. making a 3d acrylic flower in FINE detail) - we will have video's on the mag website which subscribers can login and watch.

So the mag is a like a book (very few adverts), in a magazine format (lower price) and a DVD.

We've had some great reviews from some of the nail techs who we gave a sneak preview. They were pretty amazed. The layout is terrific - the designer did a really fantastic job. You already know what kind of photo's Iryna and I make from the Feb and April issues of Scratch. Think we may appear later in the year too ;-)

We will have a stand at Nailympics if anyone wants to come take a look before shelling out money. We only want happy customers! ;-)

One other thing I would like to say and it's important enough to have a second post.

We want to promote as many talented nail techs as possible. This is NOT an Iryna show. We have used many of her designs in the first issue because we were pressed by time - but we have two guest artists even in issue #1. Other magazines are happy enough to take Iryna's photo's - so Imaginailtion is not about that. In fact we will keep sending photo's and SBS to other magazines for fun. Our objective is to Educate and Inspire, and give the many talented techs out there their voice in their magazine.

Have a great long weekend people!

Bob

"Imaginailtion" is now available. We have added a shop on the website.

Just wanted to give you a little update ;-)

We started shipping the magazine last week. It was delayed by a week from our original date as I, rather impulsively, decided early June that we really should include a DVD with two unique designs steps (i.e. not in the mag). We ran out of time to do this before we left for the US and Premier Beauty and IBS Vegas, so eneded up hiring some professionals in Vegas who set up a studio in our hotel room! They did a wonderful job.

So far we've received orders from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Malta and Norway. We're very happy with the progress especially as so far we've only promoted it through nail forums. We will start advertising in nail magazines soon.

We've received some very nice comments from readers. I've now added some of these to our website at www.imaginailtion.com/

Issue #2 is now in progress! As I write we are in Kiev this week making more nail photographs . Iryna has produced some killer nails. We expect to send Issue #2 out Sept 30.

Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement! It's very much appreciated.

If you are interested to follow our progress, please do drop by Iryna's blog at Iryna Giblett - Nail Art

All the best,

Bob & Iryna xx
