New regulations for filler injections

Did anyone watch the bbc programme the truth about beauty treatments i think it was called.
They said that 83% of all complaints about fillers and botox going wrong were done by beauty therapists not doctors nurses dentists. Its very difficult with those figures to justify beauty therapists doing injections.
The beauty business needs proper regulation.

It was a good idea, and I hope there will be more control over that area, and the practitioners would be required to have a medical degree. The number of cases when people got severe allergic reactions or were not satisfied with the results is large, and it might be hard to find a good specialist.
Not all the clinics are like the clinic I got my facelift denver from. The doctors there do everything carefully and have all the necessary certifications. That’s why most clients are happy about the results. Such a procedure takes more time, but it’s also safer.

i can understand that large number when trusting a beauty therapist with a cpd qualification in injectables.

however, the arguement isn’t between said beauty therapists and medics. it would be a shame to stop fully qualified aestheticians from performing injectable treatments when they are fully qualified to do so.

i believe that everyone (yes, even medics lol) will have to undergo a level 7 offqual qualification to be able to inject. to do a level 7 also requires a level 5 so some would be looking at around 7 grand to train properly.

i think people forget that medics also need the correct training to administer dermal filler. cpd qualifications are not enough anymore and everyone should undergo licensing and level 7 qualification to practice.

I don’t think it’s fair to slate beauty therapists…. I’ve had 12 years experience before going into the world of aesthetics, I had the correct training and course work to complete before qualifying. The issue is the people that are able to to a fast track course. So within 5 days they can be qualified in chemical peels, microneedling, filler and Botox. 4 years ago I completed chemical peels and microneedling and meso. Could I do all that in a week on top of Botox and filler?! Absolutely not, I would be a rabbit in headlights. Doctors/ nurses vs beauty therapist shouldn’t be the issue. I know plenty of doctors and nurses who haven’t gave the best treatment. And I also know some beauty therapists too…. It’s about doing your research etc. we should all work together and help each other.
