The time has come for me to get a new pair of scissors - I currently have Tondeo Mythos which have been a dream . They are 6-7years old . I don't want to buy a pair straight out of a book or online so where can I go to test some out to make sure they feel right ? Any advice appreciated. Ideally I would like to stick with Tondeo but go up to a 6 inch

Hi,

If you can make it up to our shop in Poulton, Lancashire, we have most of the Tondeo range available to try (we've actually done a deal with Tondeo so we have a couple of models exclusive to us in the UK).

Alternatively, we do understand how important it is to get the right scissor, so we do offer a no-quibble return on any scissor bought from our website (as long as it's unused). If you wanted to have a look at the options, I'd say that in Tondeo to get a 6-inch of comparable quality to the Mythos you should look at the Inspire:
Tondeo Inspire

You might also try the Zentao (although this is 6.5 inch):
Tondeo Zentao

Do feel free to give us a call and chat through the options with one of our scissor specialists (no hard sell, I promise! Just friendly advice.) Ask for Julie.

How can you try scissors out without using them? I have bought many scissors cut hair with them and thought i dont like these there not sharp enough. Then you cant take them back, it's a real problem.

I did this a couple off weeks ago, bought a pair of Kodo's £90, not as mush as some pay, they are really comfortable but I literarly cut myself to bits, the blades were thicker than my old ones and they were bevelled, I couldnt take them back because of health and safety reasons so ended up spending another £80 on jaguar satin which I,ve had before, I could have put the monies together and bought the flipping Jowells that I wanted in the first place :irked:

Hi,
Yes, I understand the frustration.
We have quite a few demo models in our store for people to try out on training heads, but clearly that's no use when you're looking at them online.
From a sharpness point of view, if you're going for the top brands like Tondeo, Jaguar, Joewell or Kasho, then that should never be an issue (and we'd take it back to sharpen it, if it was).
The reason for the problem is hygiene once the scissors have been used and I don't think there's an easy way to solve that.

xx
