New to gel nails & Nail Geek!

I am new to all this too so this thread has really helped! Doing a course at the end of the month which includes UV gel training, the course leader said I wouldn't need to do the actual shellac course as the UV training is included and they are all basically the same process but I'm worried that this may not be the case... What do you think?

Also intro or starter kit?
