hi guys ive still got lots to learn but been taught whole body massage and told to practise lots while we learn a & p when you were doing this did you charge as my friends are asking how much but im saying nothing as im practising at moment so not sure what to do, what would you do ? any advice please thanks xxxx:rolleyes:

That would very much depend if you are fully qualified in massage yet, which I assume you aren't because you haven't completed the A&P element yet.

Your insurance won't cover you for charging clients whilst not fully qualified, or I wouldn't have thought so, so you could firstly check with your insurers, and secondly theres no reason why you couldn't just ask for a donation to cover costs from your friends. :)

Hi. i am studying my swedish body massage at the moment and i practice for free , as i havn't got a massage licence and my insurance doesn't cover it. hth

very new to it got long way to go thanks for reply i just tell them i do it for practise and if they want to give a little like you say towards cost then thats up to them thanks xx

No dont charge them it costs you nothing but your time, and to be honest when you first start massage it can sometimes be horrible for the recipient ,ive had some dreadful ones where i thought they should have been paying me :).Get some feed back first and be confident before you even think of charging and get plenty of HONEST feed back its no use them saying yes it was lovely when actually you were digging your hands in or it felt like a brush with a duster and totally ineffective.

When you feel a bit more confident then I think you should start charging, because you had to pay for your training and you are spending your own time too, so, I think it costs something. When you get more confident and you won't need there feed back then defo start charging them. :Grope:
