Hi everyone,

I know that there are loads of threads on Minx so sorry to bother you all again.
I am new to Minx, and I only do manicure and pedicure on natural nails. I have practised a few times on my toes and I am fine with the heat and selecting the size etc. My problem comes when trying to file off the excess. I have to file a lot, it's as though my file isn't doing anything. I allow them to cool as in Gigi's tutorial (it was very helpful by the way!) but when I do get the excess off it's raggedy and sometimes the free edge shows. I think I am holding the file at 45 degrees!
I remember a while ago watching an online tutorial for Minx application but I can't find it now.
I would really appreciate some advice from you Minx experts before I practice on someone else!

The on line tutorial is at www.sweetsquared.com the suppliers of Minx. Just click on Minx to see it.

You mustn't see saw back and forth with your file. I place the file where I want to cut the Minx and move form the side to the centre in one firm stroke then move and stroke firmly again and so on from the other side. this should sort out your ragged edge problem. Yes at a 45º angle and stroke as if you were filing under the nail.

Thanks for your help. The nice people at sweet squared have emailed me the link to the video.
Thanks also for your advice :)
