Hi All,

I have just changed from having a summer house salon to going mobile with a good. loyal client base and want to appeal to more customers.
I have re designed my website and just wanted people's opinions and for any ideas you think might work better etc.

www.shoreescape.co.uk is my website and I am now called "Shore Escape Mobile" - if anyone is on Facebook and can like my page, that would be really good too.

Nothing too harsh(!) - I have spent a good few hours on it but after a while, things aren't as obvious as a new set of eyes so any comments, ideas etc I would like to hear from you.

Thanks

I think it looks lovely Carly well done! :) it’s really clear and appealing to the eye.

One thing I did notice was your pricing. To me (in my opinion only) your prices seem to be low? Are you competitive with your local businesses? I’m in a different area so perhaps it’s just different to here :)

I’d actually pay more for someone to come to me and take away the stress of going out to a salon so perhaps keep that thought in mind. Plus you’ll have to spend on petrol and the time for setting up and driving between appointments. Just be mindful not to undersell yourself as I’m sure you’re a great therapist.

Best wishes x

Your logo is super tiny, I can't even see it. I'd recommend sizing it up :)
Also, your contact us should be accessible at the main level on the menu, not on hover of 'extras'.

I really like your colour scheme and the consistent sea shore theme that runs through everything.
  • Yes, the logo on the home page needs to be made bigger.
  • I would add another £2 to your standard and luxury hand treatments
  • Massage prices - about right i'd say
  • Kaeso facials - you should go higher on this. I charge £33 for a standard Kaeso facial

You've made a really good start with your website. Perhaps put your prices higher but have an introductory price offer to get you up and running, then once busier, take away the discounts. It's much easier to start high with a promotion price than trying to raise your prices a year later.

Hi HBerry,

Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to look through it.

I have looked at prices in the local area - and have taken into account if they are a salon with large overheads etc and products they use.
I am about average with the mobile & salons in the local town I live in, and up to a 3 mile radius.

I do a part time accounts job as well so possibly, if this was my only job I may have put my prices slightly higher.
Thank you again.

Hi Banner Penguin,

Thank you for your comments - I cannot find an option to get the logo bigger as this was one thing I wanted to change - any ideas? I use freewebs for the website? When I hover over it, it doesn't give me an option to resize - maybe it's the template I am using? I have just changed the template and do like the one I have?

My contact details are at the bottom of the page with the email & Facebook details - I will try and add this to the top of the page.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Carly

Hi CFBS,

Thank you for your comments - I will try with the logo (see comments below to another reply) I cannot see the option to do this?

I will look at prices for manicures and facials too.

Thanks

Keep persevering and it will happen, I find it’s a bit of a slow builder but mobile is a unique business because you can promote it as a massive plus. Most of my ladies are in their pjs when I get there xx

Can you give any advice for the best ways to advertise?

I have a small loyal client base who I have had for 7 - 11 years - I di want new clients to fill the weeks that don't fall as regular appointments to be busy.

We have a "directory" that is delivered to all homes in my area (7000 +) and I had a write up in it for this month's edition but nowhere near the response I wanted or have had before - did you write to any care homes, or schools (offering teachers a discount etc)?

There isn't a mobile therapist in my area really - some work partly from home, partly mobile.

Do you have your car sign written or do anything that you feel got you better results, other than Facebook etc?

I have spent quite a while on my new website but FreeWebs won't come back to me on help with GDPR complaint so my website is all fine!

I do Facebook. Haven’t had much luck with instagram other than 11/12 year old kids really. Word of mouth which over time builds you a good solid client base that keep coming back, I would love a website but not sure I could afford one really and have no idea how I would make one myself ‍♀️!!
I read on a post earlier about giving away gift vouchers to different causes as this would maybe get people in contact with you that perhaps wouldn’t normally cross your path. I think that might be worth a go? Xx

I do offer gift vouchers for my old primary school when they do a summer fete and a couple of other raffles through existing clients.
I am racking my brains in who to write to, to introduce myself where it will generate business xx

I love that you're organized enough to already be letting your clients know what time you'll be off for Christmas holidays! How much is your mobile fee to Vancouver, Canada? ;)

I like your website, it's simple and clear with locations, working hours and cute pictures. Your FB page is nice too. But as a client, I prefer to see some real photos of specialist, or working process etc. Some kind of "introduction" or "about us" section.
Anyway, I like it! Good luck ;)

Hi Carly, apologies for pedantry but wellbeing can be written wellbeing or well-being but definitely not Well Being.
