My boyfriend has earned himself mega brownie points by deciding that we are going to Paris for New Year's Eve! :) We are going on Dec 29th and coming back on Jan 1st. I am so excited, I'm like a little kid.

We have a list of things we want to see and do, but what we are stuck on is what to do to actually see in the New Year. We are looking at finding a restaurant on river cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions from having been on their travels? It would help if the places have website as my OH is a very fussy eater so we need to check the menu and make sure he will be happy.

Any ideas gratefully received xxx

Well You may struggle getting anywhere for new years eve its hell on earth! We went three years back and everywhere was booked up back in November so we ended up just going to the eifal tower which was crammed with thousands of people! We were just outside of the centre in the hotel and struggled getting back to it after wards.

The display was good though but nothing to drink!

We went to brussels last year as we originally booked morrocco book that got cancelled due to building work. That too wasnt great. Everywhere was booked up, the trams/trains were on strike and the display got cancelled due to terroism threats. The town was full of kids throwing bangers so we retreated back to our hotel to see the new year in in peace!

If I were you I would try to book somewhere or something to do now. Ring your hotel up and ask them to recommend something and book it otherwise come new year you may be left high and dry.

I hate new year so prefer to be abroad and this year just a wee bit skint for it, but next year I am going to go to somewhere hot and see new year in on the beach!

Paris is beautiful so if you havent been then you will find lots to do.

Does your boyfriend have other ideas though??? I.E Down on one knee? Paris is notorious for that sort of behaviour ;).

Thanks Kate. We definately need to get something organised before we go. Good idea about ringing the hotel, I hadn't thought of that.

Much as I would love to be the case, he assures me he will not be proposing

Damn him lol!! A girl can dream. I am still waiting. I thought he was going to do it in brussels last year but never happened!

I have decided to go to hogmany this new year now and can i get a room for 2 adults and 2 kids NOPE!!! lol!!

Have a lovely trip, Paris is really spectacular. The Eifal tower at night is just soooo romantic.

Let us know how you get on, I would go again but would plan it a lot better now I know better!
