I'm looking for a complete carer change to enable me to work more flexible hours around my family. I. Quite like the idea of learning skills in waxing tanning and nails. I'm prepared to pay whatever costs to get the best education possible however don't want to "select the wrong course" I'm quite interested in acrylic nail extensions and aftercare as that's what I currently have as do many friends (who I hope to practice on) the tanning seems a simple choice sienna X seems to outweigh all the rest (what do people think) As for nails and waxing from scratch any advice on course's products etc would be greatly appreciated. Im also prepared to travel but have a part time job and young children so looking at all options. Heard cnd training is one of the best but don't want to overload all types of nails to start with maybe just acrylic. Unless I'd be better starting with gels. Prepared to spend whatever it costs but don't want to waste £1000's on the wrong thing. Interested to hear about other people's experiences in setting up a new business and training. Not looking to have a Hollywood salon over night just to work from home for a few extra spends to plough back in to more training. Thanks in advance.

•Kim lawless for waxing training
• CND for liquid & powder/ CND Shellac & mani/pedi training
• Bio Sculpture as an alternative to liquid & powder.
• I trained with St Tropez directly years ago in both manual tan & spray - I still use & stock St Tropez but there are so many different brands now - this id say is trial & error, you'll end up trying a few different tan solutions - I've not used Sienna X so can't compare.

Are there many salons/mobiles in your area already offering these services? What do they use?
Have you thought of specialising in one area such as waxing? It's hard to find a really great waxing therapist.

If working from home I would stay away from acrylics. The vapors are pretty strong. Gel enhancements are wonderful and no odor. CND is all I use and I love it. With little ones you want to make sure you are providing the best air quality for their little lungs. Also with acrylic when you file them you create tiny plastic dust that can get into everything around you... I only do natural nails for this reason with the ocational gel nail repair.

Try Skyscraper products by Gel II (La Palm) uk distributers and education specialists in the U.K. can be found on The Creative Beauty Group website. I did my original training with CND for natural nails and Liquid and Powder. I choose not to do Liquid and Powder any more due to the smell (I work from home) and I didn't enjoy doing it unlike natural nails. Recently I trained with Gel II (through The Creative Beauty Group) Many CND trained technicians have moved over to Skyscraper Gel as they say it's easier to work with (can be soaked off too) and is very strong. They also do L&P products if you're still wanting to do that. The Creative Beauty Group have a closed Facebook page if you want to research further with balanced opinions on all systems available. Xx
