Hey everyone,

Just a few newbie questions:green:

First off how often can I do my nails on my left hand? Is it safe to do it every few days or should i wait until there is regrowth? i find practicing on my hand more effective than fake fingers etc.

Secondly, I was wondering how long it took for you to get to the point where the nails looked great and there was minimal liftying etc. Ive been practicing for about 3 months and they are definatly getting better but slowly. They are definatly not perfect yet. Mind you I have been quite busy the past month and have had to slack off a bit with practicing but this week Im back to practicing at least an hour a day.

I only work on 2 actual ppl. Couple girlfriends of mine. I just want my nails to be flawless before I start working on the public so for now thats the only practice on people I have.

I work with l&p btw....

Hi,

I would wait until you have abit of regrowth. As your are still learning, you may end up over buffing your nails and causing them damage if your not careful, and keep doing them every couple of days.

Keep practicing on who ever you can get in as a guniea pig! The more constant practice you can get the better you will become, in time of course!

You learn how to walk first before you can run right? So you will not be able to create flawless nails straight away, so be patient and learn from your mistakes. Everytime your girlfriends come in for a infill, see how you went and correct where you think you went wrong. You will get it eventually! :)

hth xx

Hi Cutesteph, please don't wait until you do "flawless" work before you start on the public. Your ideals of "flawless" will constantly change - we are continually critical of our work, that is how our standards increase and our skills get better. Take a snapshot at your nails 3 months ago and the improvements to date, it can only get better from here. I suggest get out there and start practicing your skills on the public, you will earn while practicing and every set you do learn from the previous and strive to get better.
