hi everyone, so glad ive found this site it looks very friendly and helpful. Id like some advice pls, I have purchased a tanning system, tent etc will be spraying friends and family and had my first practice last night....... well i know it was my 1st time but it went horribly wrong lol. Im using the nuress very basic but read some ok reviews on it and it met my budget, also using LA tan solution with it. I watched dvd and read lots up on it. Sprayed my freinds and it run on her body, lots! In the leaflet it says i must have had the gun on to fast, so i turned it right down to the lowest and moved back as thought i was standing to close, that didnt seem to be covering her at all or very very minimal, but if i turned it up even a tiny bit it run?? ANY advice to better my techinque would be very appreciated, my partner is a car paint sprayer so hes going to spray me tonight to try and get the flow better. many thanks all :)

My advice would be to take a training course. Your profile doesn't say if you are trained or not so I'm assuming you're not...... If you have had training then go back to your trainer and ask questions of them in the first instance.

I'm only a nail geek but I believe spray tanning falls into the category of being harder to do well than it looks!!

Thanks for your reply, to be honest i cant afford a course at the moment, and im not doing it business wise just for myself, family and freinds. Will maybe hold of until i can afford the training course but thought id have a go :)

You should really take a training course to learn the basics and all the questions you want to ask. However why not take a look at how people spray on you tube. You should also do the couch roll test to to see whether your using the right amount of solution. x x

Hi jamie, thanks for that. I have been watching loads of you tube vids but find everyone does it different. x

Hi

If you look into a few training courses, you will see that a lot of places offer the training for something like only €100 if you are not buying the kit aswell because you already have one. Good luck

When i have enough money together I would loe to do a training course, as if you read my other thread i need it , does anyone know of any in northants area and any idea of prices please? many thanks

Have pm'd you hun xx

Hi sienna x do a days course & it is only about £70, I found the tutor really helpfull but at the end of the day you only get to practise on 1 person ( as well as someone practise on you ) It took me at least 20 spray tans before I felt a little competent checking with everyone the next day what there tan was like. Now Ive done so many it's like driving I don't worry as the procedure becomes second nature. But its practise practise practise! make sure you charge for the solution even friends & family cos u use a lot at first.
Hope this helps:Grope:

bear in mind you need a training certificate for insurance purposes, sorry to be so boring lol

Hi all thanks for replies, yes ive looked into insurances, but tbh I will only be doing family and friends at the moment. Although still need more practise. Any one in the northants area that wouldnt mind me practising on them pls let me know. I am finding it going orange though? im using 10% LA tan, my freind uses this and has fab results from it

Hi there,

it just takes loads of practise and you'll get it no probs, some of mistakes i made at start
  • gun set at too high a setting so spraying too much and would run
  • standing too close / too far away
  • tilting gun too much instead of getting it straight on
  • overspraying areas
once you get your routine going and start to perfect it then you'll get to doing really good tans and its a continuous learning process as only within last month i seen another way i could improve my routine and just goes on like that, one great thing i did was at start always get to see person i sprayed the day after so i could see where i had made mistakes and then could improve that next time....enjoy the trial and error cause its a lovely treatment to do once you get going with it

I have Pm'd you hun x
