Hi everyone I hope you can help me.

I have just started a manicure course and this week learnt the basics, next week I am going back to learn about parafin, warm and luxury manicure. I forgot to buy the cuticle cream and asked a friend/fellow beautician if they should grab some whilst at the wholesaler. When enquiring which one told me must use Cuticle Remover Cream, my trainers are telling me best not to use it as to caustic. Did email my trainers to check that I had remembered correctly ( and my notes are correct) and they reiterated about the cuticle remover cream.

I am now totally confused as they are accredited by the guild and I checked with Babtac who I am insured with that they would insure the course before I signed up with them.

You post confused me, I am not sure I am reading it right. If your trainers don't want you to use cuticle remover cream, what do they suggest you use? I have always used the recommended cuticle remover for the acrylic system I use which was NSI cuticle disolve and now CND Cuticle away.

All cuticle removers are harsh which is why we need to remove excess product from the nail area as soon as we are done. Just make sure you buy a reputable brand and try to stick with the same system. So if you manicure lotions and soak products for example are salon systems... use their cuticle remover too x

Your tutor may be referring cuticle cream as being a moisturizing treatment.

Most companies use cuticle oil instead of cream as it penetrates and conditions deeper

Cuticle remover is exactly what it sounds like. A remover that dissolves the bond in non living tissue (cuticle). Once used we wash it off to deactivate it.

A cuticle treatment (cream or oil) is applied and left on to treat and moisturizer the living tissue skin and skin fold (eponychium)

Hope that helps. I feel it's just the similar names that are confusing ...
