Hi there,
I'm totally new to this site and looking for a bit of help and advice!
I am looking to have a change of career and move into the beauty industry and in particular am keen to get into massage and holistic therapies.
I have already taken an Introduction to massage course at my local college which just taught you the basic swedish massage routine. I have also completed a VTCT course in cosmetic makeup which included eyelash tinting, perming, aswell as the makeup, and have completed the VTCT in facial massage.
At the minute i'm a bit unsure of where to go next... I am too late to enrol in the level 3 swedish massage at my local college but am wondering whether to get a bit of a heads up and do a home learning course in anatomy and physiology and then enrol in january to do the course, has anyone done the level 3 course, do you think i'd be wasting my time and money by doing the home learning course if its gonna be covered in level 3?
Sorry I have so many questions to ask and not sure where to start!!
What qualifications to employers prefer, VTCT, NVQ, etc...
My local college no longer offers VTCT for me to continue down that route, they are now offering level 2 beauty therapy on a part time basis but again I feel I would be wasting my time doing that as I have already covered about half of it on the courses I have already taken! Any courses I take need to be on an evening or weekend as I work full time in a boring office job...hence the reason I need a career change!!!
Any advise would be greatly received!!
Thanks, Tracy x
