Hey geeks

I was just wondering if the acrylics can be mixed with creative monomer? I've seen many designs on here using the glitter & coloured acrylics & thought they looked great but before i purchased any i wanted to double check!:green:

xx

Hi there, i wouldn't recomend mixing your products as you will only get service breakdown, it is always advised that you use the right monomer with the right powder etc.

You can use glitters etc with any monomer, but cover powders or pink and whites etc you should use same brands x

I havent mixed brands before, I always buy fine glitter and mix it with clear cnd powder. Iv always been scared to use another brand of coloured acrylics with cnd powder incase it causes service breakdown x

When you think about it 9 times out of 10 you are not creating the structure of an enhancement with your colour/glitter powders. You are using them for Design and effect! The main design tech's use colurs and glitter for is to do glitter tips, therefore they are not even bonding to the nail just other product (sculpts) or tips!

The main structure of the nail is created with the full system that you use, i.e. a base layer if you want one and then (after applying the design/colour )apply a finishing layer building your apex.
Therefore using coloured powders with your normal monomer in this way will not cause any problems.

However if you are planning on using coloured powders/glitters to build the whole enhancement then yes the full system fo that powder would be the right way to go.

Thanks everyone for your replys. I will only be using the powder for glitter tips not over the whole nail. I use some ez flow glitter at the moment & have never had a problem with that but wasn't sure if it would be the same!! I think i might invest in some now!! xx

I just quickly add - make sure to use two different brushes between the monomers.

from personal experience - the best plasticity for 3d work is with original NFU monomer.
